I agree that it should be studied thoroughly and regulated heavily before releasing it to the general public. Not even on some geriatric s***, but this kind of tech is going to become dangerous; people are already getting indoctrinated by obviously fake social media bots... why are we rushing into this mess headfirst? 

But any arguments against pushing full steam ahead will be disregarded as old people scared of progress just because it's progress, so I expect this to blow up in our faces spectacularly 🙃

I'm no expert on this field but what my simple ratio tells me that as long as AI is not obliged in helping stabilizing our society or for ecological principles like restoring nature (I've read something about how AI is going to revolutionize agriculture in a few years), fighting against fake news or bots that are generated by other governments so they can influence on public opinions during election campaigns etc I'm really afraid our capitalist profit driven economy is going to drive AI in a direction that is less about humanist values and our all safety but more about which leader is able to make the most out of it for its individual interests .... 

And as long as there is the possibility of having governmental leaders like Putin or Trump in office that could misuse these technologies for their own agenda and wars is it against countries, persons like Navalny or even democratic process like an inauguration on Jan 6th it really needs to be put into constitution and on UNO charta levels on how AI needs to be used and regulated

these signators which include the likes of Elon Musk just want to pause it so that they can probably find ways to maximize AI's profitability for themselves. they are upset that AI is advancing faster than they can keep up and that a lot of its benefits are in large part free to access for the public. I HATE ppl like this.

I feel like the internet was similar. I feel like we had access to it way before we were ready to, and being so unprepared turned it into a mess.

AI is going to be the next huge thing to change the world completely, like the internet did, if not even more drastically

And honestly with the state of the world and the people in charge I have a lot of reservations and fears about AI

AI is definitely one of those things that are fun to imagine in 50 years time but implementing it in reality is crazy. I'm at a pretty high risk of my job becoming obsolete with AI in the next few years, or at least super competitive as it'll only take one person to "manage" AI tech for a particular role rather than a whole team. I'm quite nervous but keeping my cool and trying to integrate AI in my job. 

It's gonna be a ride to see how we transition to a post AI-revolution economy. I think we'll reach UBI at some point but it'll take a lot of pushback and public discontent, especially when unemployment starts to climb rapidly. 

I'm curious if trade careers like plumbing, hair/beauty, and construction will become better paid and if that causes costs for their services to climb as well. Though I suspect AI and robotics will start to solve those problems.
