Ah, she looks dashing with her natural face and the braid :bradley:.

This performance was a super smart move considered all the last minute drama.I prefer the TCB version of Hold my hand, but I just love how she always surprises in the best way possible.

i rewatched it a few times again this morning—she really was riveting. taking every contextual detail (provided they are accurate) into account, i feel that this vocal-highlighting, stripped-down performance, although she really does not have anything left to prove in terms of musical talent (sound of music, shallow, hold my hand) and social commitment (til it happens to you), will benefit her tremendously. a legendary legacy? already? check.

LastNight

I liked it! It was certainly different for the Oscars and captured the mood she was going for perfectly.

Can’t lie that something like the TCB performance would have been amazing; it’s such an epic song and that performance on tour showcased it perfectly. But, all said and done, it was nice - glad she was able to be there and deliver a great performance despite her crazy schedule.

Currently sitting at #3 on iTunes. Not understanding how that stupid Donald Trump song is even #1 but Murica right? In any event, it seems more and more people are showing praise for her performance. You can tell that her entire image is still based on Harley Quinn. I also noticed she’d been looking more slender lately and part of me thinks that’s intentional for the movie. She looked amazing last night even for what was very likely a last minute attendance and performance.

And still...many people just saw Lady Gaga in plain shirt and jeans for the first time, and shocked them. :billie:

Even in the smallest effort, Gaga still makes an impact.

i think the performance was pretty good considering the drama behind it

also, does anyone else feel that she was generally annoyed at the oscars? or maybe she's just in the harley quinn method acting mode

My impression is she didn’t want to be there and seemed sad overall. Going through the motions on the carpet, in black, severe hair & makeup, and in the ritual audience interactions, with Bobby close by. Then the emotional preamble performance, saying how everyone needs a hero, but having to find within herself when she was broken, and changing the lyric to herself as well, but performing spectacularly. Brought to my mind the iHeart “Dope” performance at a bad time in her life.

I hope I’m wrong. I hope she is well and happy in her real life.

Schwerk

I have a feeling that 90% of people here that didn't like this performance would love it it was exactly the same but with Gaga in full glam.

This approach to me made the song more real and human instead of a powerballad that is common for the Oscar's. And it takes guts for a woman to go on screen without make-up like that. If I don't wear it to work, colleagues ask if I'm sick.

According to Gaga I'm a ****ing rad bitch
