Like why go at all if you are going to be the only nominee in your category to not perform and the only performer that is consistently talked about in regards to ratings? Don’t get me wrong it will be great to see her but I don’t understand why she is even attending at all if she isn’t going to be able to take the time to perform the work she is there for when that’s the main point for BOS. there’s actually a lot that goes into rehearsals for live television. who knew? Taylor Swift has also tried to break through, which has shined a light on pop-stars in trying to get Oscar recognition by music. Though Gaga has an acting nomination, she also has 3 song nominations now. Performing could make her seem desperate for another Oscar by music. TIHTY = Months of live performances and prep/promo leading up to it. Shallow = Full stage production and direction with Bradley, months of rehearsals. I am not surprised at all that she’s not performing this year bc she doesn’t half ass anything at all. She’s fully dedicated to the movie. People on twitter were like 'oh yeah, that makes sense if she's filming'. That was it. Also, there are new producers/showrunners for the Oscars ever year, so if by some off chance they were a bit annoyed at her not performing, it's not a big deal as they'll just be new ones next year.
