We were so smug from the Asian legs and the Australian legs.. Honestly we were so smug in general. Even when she changed venues in Bulgaria I was so delulu that it wasn’t a flop.

 

There was even a rumor, I think for the Mexico City date, that she had used the MDNA stage scaffolding that was already there because live nation thought it would be cheaper than to bring her own stage because she was flopping

I don't remember the specifics, it did look similar to the MDNA one but, like, it doesn't make sense for it to be the MDNA one

i remember this crystal clear, it was the mdna stage! btwb was like a month before mdna in mexico, so they used the same stage but only changed the pit and added the castle.

people made a big deal out of it when it's obvious that the decision was made because it would be dumb to transport and build a different stage when the mdna one worked just fine for btwb (it wouldn't have worked the other way around bc mdna used floor platforms while btwb didn't include any). the only visible difference from the usual btwb stage was the roof.

fun fact: the mdna tour stage was also used for a festival in london that i believe rihanna and nicki minaj performed in, but i don't remember anyone saying a word about it . i guess the mdna schedule was very convenient for livenation in 2012.
