J.Lo doesn’t sing live and most of her career is based on 1) lipping to Selena and 2) lipping to black women’s demo vocals. So that’s why I’m confused why she’s even in the discussion to begin with. She’s a fab dancer tho!

Gaga is definitely the most versatile performer out there. I'm not saying she is the best, but she can dip her toe into such a wide variety of genres and do a pretty damn good job of it.

People can have opinions, I don't see J.Lo over queen bey but they do. I don't think that the fact that majority of the people with that opinion are white has really to do much
I never argued it down, I argued down the fact that because Ashanti is black and J.Lo isn't black has the necessity to bring race into this. I never ever like when other people provide majority of the vocals, it is stupid, and I do want black artists to get more credit. I am a major supporter of diversity. But please don't jump to extreme conclusions.

But my thing is why am I being told to not jump to conclusions but people are jumping to me trying to be “woke” (which is a terrible word and has been overused out of context by people with underlying racial bias they may not even be conscious of perpetuating) and “reaching” for saying J.Lo shouldn’t be above Beyonce. 
I’m a gaga stan first and foremost. I relate to her and she has helped me survive in ways I couldn’t even begin to describe. All I said was Beyonce’s vocal agility and singing technique is better and little racists jumped on me because beyonce can’t possibly be a better vocalist simply because she’s not their fav? 
like it’s very much middle schooler behavior and it’s really weird.

First people were commenting because you said "this thread is qwhite interesting", NOT becauuse u think J.Lo shouldn't be above Bey. I've yet to see a single comment of someone jumping on you just because of your personal opinion, the first person for example was debating and having a conversation. The one that used that term (which I would not use personally) was referring to ur comment that brought in race.

overlooking the hard work beyonce has put in as a singer is something a lot of racists do and I don’t know how else to put it.
