Cameltoe Chariot 14,541
Giving the guy the benefit of doubt, for two reasons: 1. His swift and genuine apology he has since posted, along with taking full responsibility for not considering how a monkey gif could be interpreted in this context. 2. The fact that I use monkey gifs all the time to express reactions without even considering a racialized interpretation. Spoiler but everyone is going to get him fired anyway I'm sure

Taco al pastor 36
The fact that the tweet was deleted it and he apologized for it, shows that he knew he was doing in the first place. He regretted doing it BUT the only reason that tweet was deleted, and he apologized for it, is because HE TWEETED IT. He's a journalist, HE KNOWS the impact of words and social media. This was not a "innocent" mistake. IMO.

AURAOFSHEISSE 6,515
99% it was a white person who was offended by this… just like the majority of other “racism” accusations “Hands on your knees, I’m Angelina Jolie”
Rahrahbitchson 17,588
I am not surprised by the people here who minimize or do not see a problem with this, because many people do not understand what racism implies, this boy is a clear example of what passive aggressive racism is, it is common sense and everyone knows that references to monkeys have always been used to offend black people, his intention was clear and he knew that it would be interpreted in this way when using that image to respond to a BLACK person, but once things got serious and his job is at risk so "it wasn't my intention" "I didn't mean to do it" BS, this is a daily thing, but since it's not a queer person he's offending, yall don't see the problem, if it was a comment doubtfully homophobic would still be doubtful? NO, you would be burning the person alive, but since it is towards a black person then we give him the benefit of the doubt "I don't think he did it intentionally" yall are probably just like him. sarcamstic 1,558
sorry but it’s literally a reaction image, like bffr also as much as i love abel, his acting in that clip was atrocious. i was excited for ‘the idol’ once upon a time, but after the sam levinson news & abel’s attitude towards the news, i’m kinda turned off. flying like 1000 birds
