LastNight 5,705 Posted February 13, 2023 Share Posted February 13, 2023 I thought it was visually great (the red and white was so cool), the staging was incredible, and that first shot took my breath away when I saw she was on a floating stage. The performance was definitely carried by her mega-hit discography and the dancers, but overall I enjoyed it! I know she’s not known for being the best live performer, but I was watching it thinking “hmmm she’s a better mover than this”… completely missed the fact that she’s pregnant. I kind of enjoyed the chilled vibe to be honest, but I do think they could’ve broken it up a bit somehow, even a minor costume change would’ve done it. The part where the dancers were lined up along the runway and the camera moved through them to reveal RiRi at the end would’ve been the perfect moment. I probably would’ve also switched it to do a couple of slower songs near the end and then finished with another club banger; it would have felt less monotonous that way. It’s literally the SUPERBOWL!!! It would’ve required no more dancing or effort on her part and girl we know you’ve got the budget. I wasn’t convinced she sang much if any of it live but I’m no expert so I’ll leave that to the other detectives She looks stunning though and her stage design was great too. Can we please not blame her for "being lazy etc"! Pregnancy isn't fun and easy, there are women who are glad when they get through one day without getting sick multiple times. anyway, I really loved the aesthetics of the show and the floating stages, but yeah, overall it was a bit underwhelming. I expected exactly THIS. Rihanna has the super hits, I love her music, I own her albums and... I never bought a ticket to see her on tour because of this.
