One of my favorite performances. This is what art means.

Tbh I always felt that scene was a pretty cheap stunt. ARTPOP had so many layers and this didn't do it justice.

She did some amazing performances for ARTPOP, especially where she let her vocals shine, but this was one was a bit tacky that clearly wanted to drum up attention.

Either that or she just had a fetish for vomit :laughga:

this whole performance was a dark time. i sort of feel like everyone was just desperately waiting for the ARTPOP reboot and thought this was it. and afterwards it was just … almost time to pack our bags. not knowing what the future held. Glad we stuck by her anyway :)

Now I understand why my conservative brother in law (who gets all his news from Twitter and Youtube) randomly sent me a message about this earlier.

My immediate response was "that was 10 years ago".

Chromatica Island

I mean this was the intention behind this performance, to be disgusted and outraged (this is my favorite performance of Swine btw)

Gaga is trending on twitter for this :bradley:

Rip all the Joanne/ASIB transformation.

It seems like geriatric conservatives and people who are stuck in 2011 are the only ones talking about this. We have NOTHING to worry about.

Edit: Oh and course, Little Monsters exaplaining/defending the performance, too.

Stream Swine while you’re at it!!! 🐷

My favorite song! :legend:

And my favorite performance! It encompasses everything I ADORE about Gaga. Risky, provocative, emotionally charged, LOUD, honest, and original.

It doesn't get better than that :flutter:

Say sike right now :triggered:

This is not a tacky stunt, this is one of Gaga's most honest and raw performances. This is what ARTPOP was supposed to be all about. ART in front of POP.

The fact that she took the song that made me a Monster and brought it to life on stage in the filthiest way imaginable just solidifies her as an icon in my heart.

The oddly erotic, even sexually disturbing imagery of the bloated pig (complete will ball gag), a mostly naked and vulnerable looking Gaga, and Millie's flirty looks mixed with the vibrant green and deep black vomit paint that literally comes out of Millie's mouth on stage?!

Goddamn :bradley:

It's hard to explain but, as a SA survivor, it just hits hard, idk. I love her so much for it and I wish she'd do more things like this.

They ran out of things to be outraged about so now they're going back to 10 years ago. Also I'm surprised that conservatives in the UK are becoming as stupid and petty as the american ones.

This is a massive issue, people weren't really exposed to it before the internet, if you felt a certain way you were more inclined to keep it to yourself, they're now seeing these people becoming rich and famous from those kind of comments online. The UK is largely still a very accepting and liberal nation but it is getting worse and more Americanised.

Can you imagine how scary it must be to be a conservative? Literally believing everything you see in the media is somehow a sign that celebrities worship the devil or some ****? Lmao. Pitiful and dangerous.

SXSW was so raw, such a rush, and so powerful. Gaga really raged and railed against being objectified here and I loved every minute of it.

Sike :udidnt:

Seriously, I didn't do much for me and just seemed forced compared to the actual performance live on tour. I guess it brought it up a different family trauma for me too which didn't resonate. But if it works for others and is meaningful to you, then that's 100% valid.
