I'm surprised they hadn't cracked down some sooner. Seeing large company offices just a couple of blocks from coffeeshops was a bit surprising. The streets were also packed to the point they were almost unnavigable. There's a lot of artistic heritage in Amsterdam, and smelling weed at absolutely every part of the city deters from that value.
