these music biopics are getting way out of control and oversaturated in my honest opinion.

Night Vision

I always reserve my judgement until I actually see the film. I initially thought Renée Zellweger didn't look like Judy Garland, but her performance in that movie was extraordinary and convincing. I just really hope this movie is handled well, Amy is one of my favorite artists of all time and she deserves her story to be told in the best possible way.

Even if the actress is good, the director has delivered some questionable work.

It's weird, because I was an Amy stan from the beginning with "Frank" and the whole experience of watching her spiral while the world laughed in her face and egged her on was f*cking traumatic. To this day I feel so defensive of her, and I think about her often... I really miss her, and I truly think we were robbed of one of the greatest artists of our time.

A movie about her life where people will profit from it is really gross. And it upsets me that this movie could get the sympathy and adoration the real Amy deserved and never got, if that makes sense.

To quote Queen JoJo “It’s just too little, too late”

I am also saddened by this. It’s so unfortunate that the world is still treating celebrities this way. When will humankind learn!?!

doesn’t really look like amy, but i’ll save judgements until the movie comes out. a good actress can sell it! but overall, i just hope the movie is respectful and showcases her life in a way that isn’t exploitative.. nervous after seeing recent biopics pushing out fictionalized garbage like the marilyn movie was :ohno:

releasing a biopic when the person in question is dead and was ridiculed for years prior to their death is pretty gross

You said this perfectly.
