Music within the same genre sharing elements ? shocking. What's next ? All bachata's sharing the same guitar rythmic pattern, G-D-Em-C (or transposed equivalent) being used in almost every pop song?

3 out of eleven makes you think you proved a point ? cute.

May I ask why are you so invested in this conversation? Im genuinely curious (and no in truly not being sarcastic even if it sounds like it)

im from LATAM and this is completely true. lol. all the music that plays EVERYWHERE here sounds (almost) the same… :ohwell:

I live in LatAm and can confirm. Obviously there is a huge variety of songs, styles, genres and all, but the ones that stay on chart tops are god awful and all sound the same!

sure... they're all the same...

and I chose singles from this decade, 'cause if I went further back or chose deep cuts, you'd look even worse.

he was the same dude that got mad when people criticized argentina due to football fans being racist towards mbappe. It seems he doesnt understand the concept of generalization!

Shakira has been accused of plagiarism after the released her song with Bizarrap.

Venezuelan singer Briella took to social media to point out that the BZPR (Bizarrap) song with the Colombian singer sounds very similar to one of her own songs.

She accused Shakira of plagiarism
“My song “Solo tú” (June 2022) / Shakira’s BZRP Session (today)
What do you think? ”

source

They sound exactly the same in these parts, it's almost like Shakira covered it. :ladyhaha:

Also this isn't the first time Shakira did it, same thing happened with Waka Waka. So I'm not surprised.

She also blatantly lied about it.

Marisola is #1 in my country and #3 in Chile, La Bachata is still charting almost everywhere... you know... as I said, charts will be different depending on where you are, therefore generalizations makes no sense.

But hey, feel free to bow down when you're told our own cultural output is inferior, I'm not gonna stop you.

The fact that people even choose to defend her is either delusion or they are trying really hard to gaslight :vegas:

She even plagiarized Waka Waka like you said.

Controversiaga

Ok not sure I’m allowed to say this but I’m white and American and I also agree that almost all the LATAM music I’ve heard on American pop radio sounds the same.  Is that okay for me to say? Lol I’m only saying this because other LATAM ppl have said they agree with this . So yeah lol

Pronounced like “Balenciaga” . Emphasis on the “Ga”
