Dennis 8,391
this is what happens when parents buy guns and leave them lying around "A 6-year-old male student is in custody and a female teacher is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries Friday afternoon following a shooting in the classroom at Richneck Elementary School in Newport News, officials confirm" Maybe they should arrest his parents instead? https://www.wtkr.com/news/shooting-reported-at-richneck-elementary-school-in-newport-news-police

Ivy 13,807
I don't know if a 6yr old can understand really what could happen, that's so sad It must be at least some kind of negligence that the parents should be arrested for? the meow in zombieboy
bionic 50,111
6 year olds have plenty awareness that you don't go round shooting people, even if they're extremely annoying. This kid AND Their parents should see bars
Dancing Shadow 1,171
"the shooting was not accidental" the kid needs to be evaluated and treated in a childrens mental health hospital OR tought the true gravity and fae the consequences of this situation if it turns out they arent mentally ill at 6 years old, if I hurt something or someone I would know what I was doing. and they're parents should have serious action taken against them for having a gun even be accessable to to their child. LadyLuca 2,611
If they only had more guns. The teacher or another 6 year old could have defended themself / victim. pow pow
Controversiaga 17,076
Every student and teacher in that class room should have their own gun!! That would’ve solved the problem!!! If you shoot the person that’s shooting, they can’t shoot anymore ! we need more guns!!! more!!!! Pronounced like “Balenciaga” . As an educator, this terrifies me. Our students deal with so much outside of school. We don't know much about this child, and probably won't but I'm sure there were some warning signs. she/her/hers

dit 46,738
Jail is not the answer for a 6 year old. CLEARLY he needs psychiatric evaluation and treatment. We also need to see and hear his motives. Was this teacher sexually abusing him? etc...We need more context. That said, the parents need to be LOCKED UP immediatly for negligence. The fact he had access to the weapon AND the fact he was easily willing to kill someone at that age shows something deep is going on at home. Possibly intense abuse and violence. Overall, we need more info but yes, this is scary AF.
Dennis 8,391
The fact that some people unironically focus on punishing the kid rather than the parents here. A 6 year old doesn't know ****. Stop telling yourselves otherwise, especially if they have mental problems. Focus on the parents and the politicians who are allowing this to happen.
