I'm failing to see your point. Please explain.

I personally think that it is different when a older person like Kelly (compared to the younger people who went crazy on twitter, correct me if I'm wrong about the age segment), who has previously been judged for her body, now choses to do exactly the same in a mean spirited manner. Adding also to this is that she's famous and has the platform to spread this negativity to a larger group of people compared to just sending out single tweets. Gaga obviously makes it clear that most of the fans (for example GGD) agree with her about telling Kelly to kill herself on twitter is unacceptable, but as stated she can't be accountable for what others do. But Kelly tries to play the victim when she's on a show that calls people fat (Joan Rivers made the remark about Gaga eating the meat dress) but then gets upset when the same is done back to her.

I had my mom rim it for me :)

Im glad you're good and awesome

She cannot control everyone, lordy; I don't understand why some people can't understand this. There are bound to be some sour grapes in any group.

She tried her hardest to promote compassion in almost everything she has touched in the last few years. [The album, foundation, body revolution, humanitarian (orphanage visits / MAC AIDS fund raiser) / disaster relief efforts (Japan / Hurricane Sandy), constant preaching at her concerts / in interviews about self love and acceptance]

If fans can't see that, there's just no hope.

This too.

If she shaded and bullied other artists and and that led to Monsters doing the same, she'd have responsibility for starting it.

That's why MADONNA has to bear some blame for her stans behaviour towards Gaga

THIS!!!

Truthfully, I'm a little indifferent about this whole situation. I'm very glad to see Gaga for once personally addressing a situation, but at the same time, I'm just failing to see why Kelly of all people, and how this is beneficial in any way. Because truthfully, all parties are in the wrong. Let's just take a trip back to Kindergarten for a second and remember the saying "Two wrongs don't make a right." I mean, really...Think about it. Gaga has been called the devil, an abomination, a fag enabler, a joke, fat, a bad pop singer...The list goes on. There's no denying that Kelly's statement about Gaga being disrespectful for not appearing on the red carpet was illogical, don't get me wrong. But addressing someone who works on a stupid fashion show that hardly anyone takes seriously isn't the best approach either. People have said worse about Gaga and we never heard a single thing from her. Many of us perceive that as her being the bigger person in the situation..But then you have her addressing Kelly and the Fashion Police show. It's just really mind boggling.

I get it; The things they say on Fashion Police can be pretty hurtful, especially about people's image or body weight. As dumb as it is though, it has never appeared me as a show where they take time to comment on people just because they don't like them. If anything, they're just bored, irrelevant people who in reality don't have that much insight on fashion to begin with, and say things just to get a good laugh with each other. Nothing that would justify thousands of Little Monsters telling Kelly to kill herself.

Please don't quote me telling me how I should be supporting Gaga. I love Gaga to death. The letter was very professional, even though a lot of it could be interpreted as condescending. What Kelly said was stupid. What Little Monsters said was stupid. If Gaga is going to address others, she needs to address her fans more too. You need a healthy balance. Many of us admit on a daily basis that there's hardcore delusion in this fan base.

There should be a balance in addressing what is wrong, though I think we all know that she rarely/ if not as little as possible will address her fans, in fear of not destroying what she has cultivated, and I'm sure she feels she owes a fair bit to the loyalty of her fan base, and would not want to break that trust.

I think also, Gaga takes what has been said to Kelly with a pinch of salt... through all the decent fans, there will be irrational mindless antisocial ones, ones that will revolt without reason, and to address such a thing head on is to assume that all 'monsters' are like this, or at least a proportionate amount of them are like this.. which I suppose is a tad insulting ? I would prefer if she had addressed and reinforced simply the fact that it's always wrong to hate, and never wrong to love. I think she if she stated that she was simply upset by what some fans have said, fans might listen... but maybe she fears that's too patronizinf? I'm not sure really.

I do agree it seems quite strange coming after Kelly, on a silly fashion show, begs the questions..why, when she is has barely the most hateful of critiques... though I'm pretty sure she just responded because it was against her fan base simply, and all the stuff about her is just press. Maybe because she feels a certain closeness to Kelly.. she feels a little more emotional.. and because it's a celebrity, a public voice, rather than simply another hateful blogger or critic.

I think as well, this whole message is basically about what she has garnered with BTW, and now she has a foundation out of it. Gaga wants to reeinstate that she has created a message of positivity and love, especially within her fan base, and for Kelly to reach out and label all fans as hateful.. is to appear to defame the work she has done and the message she has tried to spread.

Gaga doesn't bite the hand that feeds...thats the real reason its swept under the rug and never mentioned. One scolding criticizing message from Gaga and the little brats would just listen to Azelia Banks or whomever...she realizes that.

But in my original post I hardly said anything about Gaga herself, besides my confusion on why she decided to address Kelly. The majority of the text was about how Little Monsters and Kelly are both in the wrong. But people like to take things out of context and act like I'm crazy just cause I'm not all "Go Mommy, you put that mean girl in her place!"

Free Monster

It's an example of an institution that harps on aesthetic quality that GaGa is condemning via Fashion Police. Did you even bother to read the rest of the post?

viva glam is about raising awareness and 100% of the proceeds go towards AIDS Funding... how is it aesthetic?

I agree with you, it's not picking the best of two bad things, but at least one of them has the ability to spread compassion on a larger scale and choses to play the victim card.
