James Gibson 3,438 Posted November 20, 2022 Share Posted November 20, 2022 i admit it's a bit shocking how weak (and small) the lineup is. i know popstars and labels aren't as interested in promoting in award shows anymore as that requires so much effort for a reasonable small profit and repercussion as they don't have the same ratings anymore. still, the AMAs specifically were always able to bring a good portion of top estabilished stars or at least those with enormous popularity during a breakthrough year, even more than the VMAs in recent years tbh. but maybe it's time to admit they all can't stay relevant anymore as the industry will favour other type of accolades to invest themselves. also, pissed Elvis won top soundtrack over Top Gun. idk why Gaga was so unlucky in this award show specifically. That soundtrack (and song, Bruno) was/is a huge phenomenon among both children and adults.
