Thomas P 18,479 Posted November 21, 2022 Share Posted November 21, 2022 I’m biased as I am a Beyoncé stan, but Renaissance is clearly the best album of the bunch of nominees (closely followed by Bad Bunny and Adele). If Rosalia would’ve been nominated, then I would’ve said an album of equal quality had entered the race. I actually think that 30 is exceptional, she took risks, and songs like To Be Loved are some of the best of her career. That being said, she can’t win this again, the backlash to Adele (when she wouldn’t deserve it whatsoever) would be insane, and it’s just not the best album of the bunch. I actually think most of the nominees this year are quite great. Bey, Adele, Bad Bunny, Kendrick, and to a certain extent, Harry. It’ll be a fun race to watch play out. Yes, but Lemonade not winning generate chaos and people talking **** about Grammys. That's the reason why I think they won't dare to do the same thing again. I don't get it: we should love all the female artists of the planet? Do we have the rights to like some artists and not like others? And why when lms drag male artists no one says something like that? Do you actually think that Swifties, Hives and other don't drag other female artists, Gaga in particular? The hypocrisy. It's like we MUST be perfect human beings just because we are Gaga's fans. I'm not and I want to drag whoever I want (always with respect, of course). Just A Holy Fool 2,606 Posted November 21, 2022 Share Posted November 21, 2022 I gave 30 another listen this weekend… it’s not a bad album, but by far her weakest, which for Adele is still pretty good lol. it just didn’t grab me at all like 21 and 25 did… I’ve hardly listened to it since it came out.! Cameltoe Chariot 15,267 Posted November 21, 2022 Share Posted November 21, 2022 All the negativity towards Adele is hilarious imo, each album is meant to encapsulate the age and "era" of her life that she wrote it in. 30 is about her 30s, it's not gonna be bops for all the 19 year old bottoms to dip to in the club... calling it boring is just so sad and completely misses the point. I've grown up with Adele, as have a lot of her fans, and I think 30 connects differently because of that. If you don't get it, fine. But comparing the validity of an album that was almost entirely written and conceived by one person versus an "exercise in the art of sampling" like Renaissance with 100+ credits just seems... reductive.
