Ticketmaster are such greedy bastards. I bought a regular ticket to see Depeche Mode in April, no M&G or VIP stuff or anything, and that sh*t cost me $300  :saladga:

I know it's not just the fees, ticket prices in general are crazy, but still, lower fees are a good place to start.

I go to a lot of concerts so this might be good IF they don’t just add the fees to the ticket prices instead of listing it as a separate fee.

With that said I HATE that the government is stepping in to control something that is a LITERAL luxury item. People are so entitled to think the government should step in so they can afford to go to concerts. Like…talk about f’d up priorities.

What about airline fees and govt taxes on flights? I paid $900 for a flight, only $400 of which was the actual fare.

I think the goal is to crackdown on many industries that take advantage of consumers through ridiculous fees. I just used Ticketmaster as an example because it’s gay people business.

Yeah there are a lot of abusive practices but I think concerts aren’t anywhere near a priority relative to healthcare, food, clean water, etc because you don’t HAVE to go to concerts like the other things. If you don’t like the fees then just DONT GO. And it’s not like the artists aren’t charging a ton for the shows themselves. Are they expected to lower their fees as well so people can afford to go? It’s crazy (and annoying) how entitled people are to doing things that literally aren’t necessary.

Regulations are a lot easier to create than passing laws. He doesn't need to necessarily pass anything through Congress going this route. Also, focusing on services rather than goods can be beneficial because there's not as much of a reliance on supply chain for services, and increasing spending on services by decreasing barrier of entry might ease inflation.
