I'm a huge fan of her music and of Midnights. But the extreme strategizing to maximize chart performance and get headlines is fatiguing even to me. Folklore and Evermore had their fair share of strategy to peak #1 and move units but Midnights just feels like overkill. Like, you got ten top 10s in one week. Maybe let someone else have a moment?

Poor her. She’s just so desperate.

The worst are her fans buying copies of the same album. This really embarassing

Basically calling all the fans desperate. Gaga and all the main pop girlies are doing it the same. Gaga did 4 vinyls, 4 or 5(not sure) cassettes for Chromatica, meanwhile Taylor did 1. Gaga releasing different Love for sale covers and so on. But yeah put Taylor on a cross for doing the same thing GAGA did.

You’re literally on a stan forum dedicated to a female pop star and collecting her stuff. Just stop embarrassing yourself.

how are people suddenly complaining about capitalism in the music industry? :air:

if gaga did something half as creative with her merchandise, this website would be living for it

mother, what must i do?

Well, I picked up all the vinyl variants of Midnights (I have a complete Taylor vinyl collection).

I also own 20+ versions of The Fame / Fame Monster, 10+ of each of BTW & ARTPOP, every vinyl variant of every album and a bunch of cassettes I don't want in order to get the signed bits. So this "poor fan" buying the copies of the same album must also be embarrassing.

Except she literally didn't...? The only vinyl variants of Chromatica when it came out were the "standard" silver and the picture disc. The picture disc was a webstore exclusive and not sold in stores, while the silver version was the one sold in stores but it was ugly AF with the plastic packaging and just silver disc, no gatefold and the album cover was nowhere to be found. I am a huge collector but I didn't even get the standard silver version because it was so ugly. Then we finally got the beautiful gatefold vinyl for record store day, but that version 100% should have been available when the album dropped, not months later.

I'm just saying this to state that the Chromatica and Midnights rollout (when speaking in terms of physical copies) are completely different and it isn't fair to compare them.

During debut week, Midnights had 5 different gatefold vinyl variants with different covers available in stores, while Chromatica only had one in stores (ugly one with no album cover) and one online exclusive.

EDIT: Also should mention that Taylor sold signed copies of 4 different Midnights vinyls AND 4 different Midnights CD's, while Gaga sold no signed vinyl and only one version of a signed CD. Taylor had 8 different signed versions for sale while Gaga had 1.
