I think the question is: what happens when vinyl don’t sell and they become trash? Those vinyl sold. They are in peoples collections. 
Vinyl from other artists are in deep discount and still not selling. That’s the real impact to environment.

like I collect vinyls too but do you really need four different versions of the same album? just to make a clock? Like are collecting these for the sake of helping our fave get a #1 album or because we actually want to consume the media we purchase.

Gaga does 4 vinyl variants and folk love it. 
why can’t we all enjoy music and merch? 
Nobody is forcing to buy anything. All is good

This. It’s never a problem when someone’s fave does it. Like obvi Gaga is my fave, my life, but if you’re gonna go off on one person for all these variants, why not go off on everyone? I mean gaga did many for chromatica and even 3 different single vinyls so like??
