Charmz 3,929
…and higher than when the album debuted 25 years ago! 🧡🤍💙💜 Due to the overwhelming success of the 25th Anniversary Edition Vinyl release, Kylie Minogue’s IMPOSSIBLE PRINCESS has debuted in the top 5 on UK Music Charts this week. 🧡🤍💙💜 This chart position is a higher debut (and higher overall position) than when the album was first released 25 years ago. #3 in Australia #5 in the UK The era of streaming, easy access to older music, and resurgence of Vinyls as a viable medium for marketing contributed to the success - not to mention an enthusiastic fan demand for their favorite Kylie album. 🧡🤍💙💜 I got the marble vinyl from Amazon - here’s a fan unboxing all the new editions of the Vinyl: Have you purchased your vinyl yet? 🧡🤍💙💜 Always & Forever, 🧚🏻♂️🦉CHARMZ🦉🧚🏻♂️

Future Lovers 6,587
I love and adore Kylie. One of my favorite artists of all time. That being said, never understood the love for this album beyond the fact that fans want to protect it because it was her first major flop. It certainly is different and experimental but I don't think in this instance that translated to good. Definitely some good tracks, but as a whole, one of her weaker efforts imo. Very happy to see it succeeding for her tho!
butthole 9,870
Somehow I've never listened to this. I'm about 3 minutes into Too Far and it's very... of the time, but I think I love it. Kinda like Sneaker Pimps meets The Cardigans. Fantastic opener. edit: Cowboy Style made my brain feel like it was itchy so I had to leave it. Some Kind of Bliss sounds like bar background music in a Coyote Ugly-esque coming-of-age movie. Oooh. Did It Again is very reminiscent of PJ Harvey. I like it. Breathe is like reggae Britney, but not as intriguing as either. Say Hey could've been fantastic. It's so smooth and just kinda chugs along building up, but doesn't crest. It needed a bigger crescendo or more lyrics or something impactful. I take that back. It leads into Drunk so well. Fuuuuck. This is amazing. I'm adding this pairing to my driving playlist. I Don't Need Anyone seriously sounds like a non-single Tragic Kingdom era No Doubt song. It's cute. Ahhh great guitar solo. Jump is okay, but I feel like it's not good fit for her voice. Limbo is sort of what I expected/wanted this album to sound like, and I'm really happy it's actually here. Best standalone track so far imo. Through the Years is wonderful. Very, very lovely. She does that smooth, sultry, spacy vibe on this album soooo well. Good penultimate track. Dreams is super cinematic. Sort of shimmery funky witchy. Awesome closer. I understand all the hype for most of the album. As it stands, I don't feel compelled to listen to CS, SKoB, DIA, or Jump ever again singularly, but I'm definitely going to listen to the full body of work so they could grow on me. Why wasn't Love Takes Over Me included on the standard edition?! Who chose the singles?! Almost all of them are my least favorites. lol
Anderson123 36,265
I haven't listened to this album in years. I remember going through a Kylie discography listen and was always curious about Impossible Princess because the fans talked about it a lot but when I listened to it I was just like meh. Maybe I just need to give it another try.

bionic 44,752
Breathe is one of the best songs in Kylie's discography. Limbo is one of my faves. This is what a 'personal' album looks like buy bionic
Reject False Icons 4,712
This album is definitely a grower and of course the fans that have realized how great it is since a long time ago, now show the results I hope Kylie sees the great reception, and ofc get to good terms with it cause it’s basically her ARTPOP era and maybe wink at it in the future

Love seeing a review like this. 💛🤍💙💜 In the context of the time, and for other folks saying they’re not sure why it’s a fan favorite, it was a HUGE departure for Kylie from more bubblegum pop into music that was much darker and personal. If you’re into Manic Street Preachers, Rolling Stones, PJ Harvey, Björk, all of these listed as inspiration. Kylie wrote many of the lyrics while on a cross country road trip in the USA. The album cover was shot by Stéphane Sednaoui, you probably have seen his work with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Björk, Madonna. COWBOY STYLE actually is fascinating because it blends Irish, African and Indian sounds together into a pop song - it was unique for it’s time. 🤍🧡💙💜 TOO FAR was going to be the first single, but the record company wanted something more commercial. It was released as a promo single (with remixes) to the club scene and some some Vinyls promoting still float around the net. 🤍🧡💙💜 LOVE TAKES OVER ME was a b-side to DID IT AGAIN and later released on the deluxe edition reissue. Other extremely standout b-sides are TEARS, STAY THIS WAY, SOMETIME SAMURAI, GERMAN BOLD ITALIC and TAKE ME WITH YOU. 🤍🧡💙💜 Another reason why this album is famous and beloved by fans, is that it was delayed and renamed to simply “Kylie Minogue” after the passing of Princess Diana (out of respect). Australia got the release as IMPOSSIBLE PRINCESS about a year before the rest of world because of this. In the UK especially, fans feared they wouldn’t get the album, and indie record stores there imported it and upcharged the price, placing stickers on the cover saying things like “Rare cancelled Kylie Album”. In many ways, this album was so loved by fans because of the time in music is repressed, the cursed rollout, the complete change for music in Kylie’s artistic style. Kylie was growing up with her fans at this point, and they loved it. Always & Forever, 🧚🏻♂️🦉CHARMZ🦉🧚🏻♂️
