why is taylor's aesthetic so disney like?

why she always gravitates towards this disney like universe themed aesthetic?

every album, even her most personal ballads always have this luminous, lowkey disney romantic comedy empowering drama vibe

even REPUTATION, she was like a disney villain, then folklore, evermore, now midgnights

don't get me wrong, i actually LOVE IT, i listen to REPUTATION on a weekly basis and i've been playing midnights non stop.

i just had different expectations for this album, like, with the album cover and the lana collab i thought she REALLY WAS GOING TO LIT THE MATCH, and come with something super raw, sylvia platesqué and lowkey sexy, like more mature visuals, different lyrics but so far everything still have this childish disney vibe

I think it’s just a part of her ‘brand’ and she knows it appeals to people. Who doesn’t have a favourite Disney movie?

I get what you say and i believe the same thing. Is really obvious this disney childish aesthetic she have. I dont know if she grow up watching disney tv sitcoms and films. But untol this day im expecting sometime more mature from TS i always thing she have a teenager mindset. But at same time, this video show her more sexy than ever, so its a combination.

By the way i love the reputation era and the darkness of it. But she dont explote the potencial of the aesthetic, not at all.

i actually think this is a great explanation for the people that say "i just don't get her success, what do people find appealing about her??" – she's totally the pop-star disney equivalent. she has an insane volume of output, consistent releases, her content is escapist but also familiar and relatable, it's safe for all ages, offers broad but more or less true "life lessons" that really anyone can identify with.

Right from the beginning of her career, she’s dealt in very specific aesthetics and that’s fairy tales and (no pun intended) folklore. She’s always connected what she does to storytelling because that’s her style of songwriting. She is a very literary style writer (as in most of her songs—not all but most—are narrative based) and this aesthetic pairs well with that.

There's something about her teeth tho. Like she has too many of them. (Gee, more swifties coming after me I reckon. Otoh, we often make fun about Gaga's nose or height, don't we ?)

I think any sort of judgement on a person's outward appearance is uncalled for :huntyga:

I feel like Delicate and Cardigan weren't as disny-esque as usual. Same for Blank Space and Style, to be honest. But I do feel this new album is overly disney.

Yeah, she's very Disney/Marvel. Every release is huge and has effects felt throughout the industry
