Yo imagine being this passionate about how much money an artist makes and the records they break for no reason :flop:

Shaming people because they’re interested in pop culture and music industry while being on a forum celebrating musician? :flop: indeed. Let people enjoy doing what they’re doing. You’d be doing the same if it was one of your favorite artists and there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with that. People like celebrating something they were part of if they bought her music.

I wouldn't do the same, because I dont put that kind of energy into it. It's fine talking about it and being invested but y'all are being petty against each other for absolutely no reason. These artists doesn't even know us and people fight as if they are trying to win their respect. I mean cool your fave sold 2 million more than someone else's fave, and? What does that change about you? :flop:

It’s about having interest in something. It’s okay if you can’t enjoy it but coming in this thread saying someone is a clown because they are invested in something is just not it. There’s plenty of threads for you to share your interests, if this is not one of them then leave it for the people that like it. I don’t even understand why people who don’t care for these kinda of stuff open threads like this? Just enjoy your day and read something that interests you.

Only reason midnights is smashing is because it's coming hot off the heels of folklore and evermore and mad rollout.

Folklore and Evermore literally came out 2 years ago.

And we've had Red TV between then and now. Which friendly reminder is a re-recording and it still did 1M+ in its first week :classy:

Midnights is smashing because it's Taylor Swift.

People on here like to pretend Swift has zero cultural impact, or relies solely on "cheap" marketing tactics* but at the end of the day she's a force to be reckoned with, because of fantastic marketing, great music production and songwriting, and a large and loyal fanbase.

Spoiler

* if Taylor's releases are cheap, I can't wait for people to remember how Born This Way was sold for literally a dollar to boost sales back in 2011 :saladga:

Ah I didn't mean it like that, I am a big swiftie and think she is the music industry, but I think the hype for new material may have been higher because of how good the folkelmore era was. If this came out after lover, don't think it would debut this strong (but would still be a strong debut by wider industry standards ofc)

Yeah. Is truly remarkable. With no single or promo song out. She did THAT. Marketing genius on top of being an incredible songwriter. Wow
