Not that it matters because Taylor is clearly the bigger artist now. 25 was a one time glory coming off one the biggest albums ever. It's not like we're cashing the royalties. Rahrahbitchson 17,588 Posted October 23, 2022 Share Posted October 23, 2022 Why people are still fighting about sales in 2022 whenever an artist breaks a record or gets an accomplishment people start these absurd sales fights or who is bigger than who, I think people confuse sales with artistic quality or cultural impact, Taylor found a way to be a profitable artist and to be able to sell her music, she is one of the best writers and composers I have seen, I think 1989 is pop perfection, I loved folklore and evermore, but for me Midnights did not bring anything new to the table and the reason why they buy it is because she comes from Folklore and Evermore which are excellent and that made the album break and now hold records as the album with the most streams in history but this album is not no Thriller and will never be, so that "music industry" and "biggest this biggest that" to me are meaningless if the artist doesnt reach a level of fame very few musicians has reach like MJ, Britney or Gaga, these people are known by everybody, not just hardcore teenagers, so once again sales doesnt mean anything, she is appealing for a market, she knows how to sell it and records are meant to be broken and thats good for her. I don't get why many of you are so pressed. She and her team are marketing geniuses like no other in the industry right now. She may not be the most talented singer or artist overall, but she's a really good songwriter who does not sell out to the whole 2-minute-tiktok-song trend. Her fans are, therefore, extremely loyal because they keep getting fed. Of course she sells more than anyone else. There is no reason to be immature and mad about it.
