These numbers are ****ing ludicrous. Like how the **** did she pull these?

I know it goes without saying, but lead singles truly aren’t necessary nowadays, in fact i think she benefited from not having one.

A great album, great numbers.

I’m a simple guy to please, if you like Melodrama, we chill.

Why do you think a stream equates to talent or an accomplishment? By your definition you’re saying uncharted or lesser known artists don’t have talent just because they don’t have sales or streams, etc.

so u came into this thread to hate and be bitter? :bear: just don’t open something you’re not interested in for ****s sake

I am so happy for her :applause:

Good to have women in music wins this year! :golfclap:

And it will grow bigger for the first week number as a lot are still spinning this record as we speak :woohoo:

Kudos to her those are insane numbers. Although not so impressed by the 1.2 mil projected units first week when you sell 900,000 versions of your album.

Honestly I would be eyerolling too if Billboard didn't mess with the bundling rules a few years ago. Get the 1.2 mill however you can, because it hasn't happened since.

The GP really stans her. With that amount of hard work, marketing genius and feeding the fans, she totally deserves it. She released two albums in 2020, not only rerecorded but released vault songs and others in 2021 and has 7 extra songs on the second edition of Midnights. Nobody feeds fans like she does :messga:

It did. The numbers are right there. If you’re going to question the validity of Spotify’s official data then I hope you’re willing to question the streams of every artist.

This has always been such a weird argument.

You can make as many versions of your album available as you want but people still have to be willing to buy them. And as for the ridiculous streaming figures, there’s a standard and a deluxe which is the industry standard by now.

Everyone acts like these tactics are new. Need everyone be reminded of all the tricks Gaga pulled to get BTW to 1m first week? Or all the artists who bundled their album with tour tickets? This is no different.

EXACTLY! Wasn't it sold for just 99c or something on Amazon.

I found this news article but idk how true it is. In any case, people wouldn't buy multiple versions of an album if they didn't want or were hyped about it.
