“Activists”. No. More like idiots. And to do it to the Sunflowers painting? Sunflowers are a national symbol of Ukraine, signifying peace. What a disgusting thing for those losers to do to that painting. So they support Putin and attacking Ukraine? Throw the soup at a BP oil sign, not at a sunflowers painting.

Is this for real because I've never seen such a reach :air:

Do you feel him sir?

I wish people mad at this would care this much about living artists and their craft and livelihoods :cyanlights:

It's a joke! When you give me that look, it's a joke!

Ugh, people are glueing themselves to the streets here for a while now and wasn’t there someone throwing food at the Mona Lisa before as well?

I really don’t get all these kids, if you wanna change something, go study, learn, apparently you/your parents have enough money to support this bs so use it. Go into politics and be the voice that pushes regulations and laws. I know, it’s not as flashy as trending on tiktok or whatever, but in the long run it will change things.
No one takes you seriously and no government will change because a couple of silly children refuse to eat their soup.
Kids are yelling now they also wanna have x amount of money for climate funds like our government agreed to have for military expenses.
My question then is, what exactly to you want to use lets say 200B € for? What’s your plan? How much money for what program, how many renewable energy plants are you going to build, where will you build them, what regulations to you have to meet, how much money will you need for new infrastructure?!

Its easy to have big demands for bold headlines, but how will it come to reality? Don’t you wanna be the person who makes it easier so these steps can be fulfilled? So be that person, study finance or whatever and help that programs can be moved forward faster, but don’t throw soup… Jesus.
/end of my rant. :bye:

I agree with you. There's so many other options to spread the word. I don't care if the painting was covered by glass. It doesn't make it any better. What if it wasn't covered at that time? Then what would everyone say? What if more people starting to throwing food at paintings to copy the act, thinking that they're helping? You can never copy someone's art.

I'm sorry if im taking it too serious, but I just don't want this to keep happening. You can protest, just not like this. Like I said before, it makes the impact of their words look silly.

All the commenters wishing for punishment and saying nonsense stuff just shows how detached you are from the world. Sometimes I really worry about the morals of people on here, it seems to me some of you would be better off going out and connect with people and learn about the world instead of indulging in pop gossip and fashion brands.

so let me get this straight.. they protest against oil, so they attack an oil painting... paints that are made mostly with vegetable oils (mainly flax) as a base.
