LG7 Needs to be ambitious/serious

I agree with you but I'd say that's what I want it to be, not what it needs to be. Quite frankly, I'm not very sure if Gaga still has in her the darkness that helped her make songs like Bad Romance or Bloody Mary. But maybe that was the price of her becoming happy and healthy, which is good.

I would've said this before The Chromatica Ball but this tour really showed she is still a master of 'the art of darkness' and is creatively ambitious. I'd love LG7 to reflect everything TCB embodied.

Imagine going up to Gaughin or Picasso and you tell them, "your next painting needs to be dark and spiritual, ok? Just do that, thanks"

An artist will do what they wanna do :ladyhaha:

Yes, Gaga should go back to the true peak of her creativity and ambition by singing over old instrumentals just handed to her to like on ARTPOP.  She really showcased her talents on songs like Jewels N’ Drugs.

Saying that Chromatica is not ambitious or serious is laughable.

What I wish for LG7 is that some of her fans will finally appreciate her and her craft instead of constantly finding the flaws and fan-explain her what she should do.

I honestly found ARTPOP interviews somewhat fun to watch. Chromatica on the other hand... The concept just wasn't there and her words didn't really make sense so she kept saying the same stuff.

Chromatica is a good pop album but i really feel that conceptually she didn't put as much effort as she did in other albums so that already is a downgrade for me personally and i definitely lowered my expectations after that

Chromatica was literally her best music and tour.

I think her albums have consistently been serious, but I agree about the ambitious part. Personally speaking her last 'ambitious' album was ARTPOP and she was so traumatized by its reception that she has played it safe ever since.

Obviously it is not worth it to produce what she may consider ambitious if it means sacrificing her mental health, but if she is up to it then I agree its about time for a banger album that not only we consider iconic.

Well, that's a very subjective take. I enjoy Chromatica but it's really her most commercial album. I like it just like any other pop album but something is missing in terms of concept and vision so from Gaga i definitely expected more.

With Chromartica what she experienced was one thing, and what she served was a watered down version of it. I still think the music was great (Enigma has a special place in my heart), but there's a big disconnect between her explanations and the end result. The Chromatica Ball and the 911 video were the closest thing to fully realizing the concept, and it was the visuals doing the heavy lifting.

I think Chromatica was a very serious album. It dealt with some dark things Gaga was going through, and it was very honest and focused.
Because of that, I have a feeling that LG7 might be more positive, light-hearted, and focusing on Gaga’s happiness/peace.

You guys want the GP to turn their back on her again? :bradley:

Just because she is experimental or ambitious it doesn’t mean the GP will turn their back on her. It could also work the other way around and instead she will be acclaimed.

No. LG7 needs to be nothing but what she wants it to be

This is true but my OP is simply what I think she has been missing.

But at least the concept and idea behind it was ambitious. She also chose to have the specific sounds that were “handed” to her.

You can hate her but there's a reason ARTPOP gets her revenge/moment in every era :flower:

Conceptually, lyrically, and even production wise I still believe ARTPOP is her strongest album.

Fight me over it @everyone :fan:

The Fame is great for a debut album but we all know if she put it out now it'd be trashed as basic.

The Fame Monster is a great follow up but still eh. Basic by comparison.

Born This Way is miles beyond TFM with a better concept, social awareness, better lyricism, just a solid foundation for the rest of her career and it's not a mystery why BTW is so many stans' favorite.

Joanne is my favorite but she's tame and simple by design.

Chromatica...is marred by Bloodpop's basic production which ruined some great songs. Free Woman was gutted of everything that made it unique. Fun Tonight has a dance break...for some reason? 1000 Doves should have remained a damn ballad. Half the songs sound almost empty with 2 dimensional production, some songs sound incomplete, and the best lyrics on the album belong to a song that doesn't even really have a chorus beyond repeating "I'll be your enigma".

So ARTPOP definitely sh*ts all over Chromatica and (my beloved) Joanne. It only faces competition when you compare it to Born This Way really.

Still all great music though so no one call me a hater :grr: I went to TCB three times :grr: we can criticize the ones we love :grr:
