She had a publishing deal with him since she started working in the US though. She was never fully *independent* from him. The initial deals with him are the only reason she was able to secure a working visa anyway.

Nope. She was never in any contract with Luke until willfully signing to HIS label, Amigo Records, a subdivision of Republic Records, just late last year.

Kim is a horrible person, a manipulative liar, and her music NOT good enough for me to look past any of her horrible actions and behavior.

Yeah, she came here on a tourist visa and hit the ground hard looking for anyone and everyone to work with [which in itself she could have gotten in major trouble for] because it was her only way to secure a working visa so she could actually move to the US. She met Aaron Joesph - who is the one who actually produced most of her music. He is the one that worked for Luke and thus orchestrated a deal between the two. After all was said and done she was able to get the visa move to the US. Around that time is when the Kesha Vs Luke case started being more public. A lot of people are quick to point to her public statements at the beginning of her career when questioned about Luke, but she had no media training and could not for her own sake say anything against him - just look at how well it went for Kesha. Her career would have been over before it started. The music industry abuses its artists from the inside and then also uses them as the bullet proof vest when it comes time for those very same abusive higher ups fall under scrutiny.

huh, I didn't know that! It definitely makes sense why she didn't say anything negative against him, he had her livelihood, future and dreams in his hands and being so close to them she obviously didn't want to jeopardize what was seemingly her only chance. Maybe now that she's become more popular she can in someway distance and remove herself altogether from him if/when she can. I wouldn't be surprised if she feels regretful of her (assumingly) impulsive decision but knowing that now it makes sense why she went ahead with it.

I love to see just how accepted it is to bash on a young person, not allowing her to grow and learn. 

Some of y‘all are really disgusting and so extremely quick to judge someone you have never met, will never meet and has no impact on your personal life whatsoever, but still make it your mission to point fingers every opportunity there is.

The thing I'm still so surprised by is that it's all happening so quick. Usually when projects get scrapped artists disappear for a while an just a few weeks later she already has new projects lined up

Yes, because when being given the option of pack everything up and leave your dreams behind OR sign a recording contract with a controversial figure at its head, we would all choose to go home and work in Starbucks 

I totally get the hatred towards Luke, I hate him too but let’s not pretend someone is evil because they can’t claim absolute moral purity.  I’m sure we’ve all worked for corporations and businesses that aren’t perfect, that’s life.

If you wanna spill some facts don’t forget to mention that Aaron was a manipulative friend for Kim and he’s the one that introduced her to Luke and made her sign with him. There’s a reason they’re no longer friends
