I’m going to see her in January but gurlll this is not it at all. She’s released too many singles from the album, kinda sad.

Purposely been avoiding the leaks so I can listen and stream properly in full on Friday (it’s what Rina deserves!) - but I’ve got to say I’m becoming more and more underwhelmed with each pre-single. Hurricanes does nothing for me, as with Phantom (which sound pretty similar). The only tracks I’ve enjoyed so far is This Hell and Catch Me In The Air.

Its annoying as I’ve heard so many opinions now on the album tracks which sound so much better than the recent singles (Holy, Frankensteined, Imagining), so it’s confusing as to why she’s chosen these tracks to showcase the album.

This site is pretty critical for people that think that Chromatica is one of Gaga's best albums

Well, most of us we have taste, so thats why we think that :iamfair:

It takes a smart brunette to play a dumb blonde.

While she's previewed Holy she's mentioned it begins the darker chapter of the album (which is pretty short imo), and I feel like she's very much into the happier part of the record and focuses on it more. But, as always, the dark bops are the best sonically, and we're losing so much because of this. :bradley:

Sorry the lack of taste on this site is nauseating at times, as usual you all were expecting a copy and paste of an artists other project, I'm glad she's playing more with genre in this one still, just in a different way, she really is embodying a lot of sounds from the early 2000s for sure with the perfect amount of cheesiness.

I must say I am absolutely loving the single artworks she’s had for each single so far :nick:

Which is definitely fair enough as an artist has to evolve - but that Kelly Clarkson-esque mid-000s pop rock just doesn’t do it for me and which I think has been overplayed too much with the recent singles so that’s why I’m disappointed with Hurricanes. Nor does it help show the variety of the album which has been said to play with a lot of other genres.

In other news, my Rough Trade lemonade galaxy vinyl has just been shipped and I’m so excited to see this variant irl.

Literally no one is saying they want a copy and paste, but I understand that it's more easy to speak in hyperbole than actually address criticisms. As far as I've read here and personally feel, most of us want something as powerful and thought-provoking in its delivery as her debut. Even the lyrics on this are just... not it.

That doesn't mean the same thing again, it means something that's not almost half of an album that's an unctuous rehashing of music from 20 years ago.

On Sawayama she challenged genres yes, but on this album she's LARPing.
