Can we talk about Brooklyn Nights?

Since I became a fan in 2013 Brooklyn Nights was sort of my first “unreleased song” experience, getting to experience the snippet and then the full leak was so surreal. Not to mention her singing a snippet of it at the ArtRAVE was cool to.

But honestly, can we talk about like the “size” of the song in relation to Gagas unreleased material? Like it’s so crazy that we have multiple demos of it, the stems, a snippet of the recording sessions, and a leaked backdrop for the ArtRAVE. And I get that it was originally supposed to be on the final version of the album, but then again so was Temple and we haven’t gotten anything from that :messga: I just think it’s so wild that we have so many things from Brooklyn Nights since it’s not even released. I’m assuming since Gaga wanted to play it at the ArtRAVE it meant a lot to her and she probably leaked it / gave it out knowing it would leak. Im assuming if ACT 2 had actually came out in 2014 it would’ve been the lead or focused on single

Yes let’s talk about the fact that Fashion! made the cut but Brooklyn Nights didn’t :koons:

jewels n drugs literally exists (not that i hate it but compared to the other songs it's not that ARTPOP-y)

Please let’s not turn this into an ARTPOP tracks hate thread :messga: It’s clear she valued all of these songs, and chose to save Brooklyn Nights for something.

Pretty sure it was Mary Jane Holland that pushed Brooklyn Nights off the album.

I agree that Brooklyn Nights is such a powerful song with a very powerful statement behind it and it feels very Gaga in its lyrics. Definitely a shame it was never officially out there.

Another fun BN fact: Some random person put Brooklyn Nights on a streaming service (like spotify or itunes or something?) years after ARTPOP went out and it actually started to chart before it was taken down. :cryga:

I remember that :messga: so iconic lol. And yeah at the end of the day MJH makes the most sense on the album, Brooklyn Nights was definitely something that could’ve served a purpose outside of the album though (I believe the original idea was on the app, unless I’m mistaking it with Princess Die I forgot)

. I’ll admit I hated JND when I first heard it at Swinefest but now it’s a bop for me. Now imagine the studio versions of Ratchet and Partynauseous :messga:

Yea she said at one point that songs like Brooklyn Nights, Tea, and Princess Die, etc. were gonna be released on the app.

I don’t hate Fashion!, I just feel it’s too basic to be on ARTPOP. Like out of all the 100ish songs she made for ARTPOP, she chose Fashion! over songs like Onion Girl, Tea, etc. The latter sound more interesting to me tbh but that’s just me.

even tho it’s pretty mid compared to other songs that outro is iconic :messga: I like the slow progression to just wildness through the track lol.

I really hope she released ARTPOP Act 2 next year with Partynauseous on it cuz I can’t listen to these fan-made versions forever (which are actually good btw)

I just can’t believe we got stuck with the live version on the stream with all the repeated lines and live band :messga:

TEANUS

B*tch the way I’d gag to have this on an official release. For ARTPOP 10YRS I’d be satisfied with a reissue with DWUW solo back in it’s place and Brooklyn Nights + another track or two, please Gaga :nooo:
