Economy 49,918
Hope he feels better! I feel artists sometimes make your schedules too demanding and it ends up draining them too much leading to many cancellations (whether they have an illness or not) I feel like if they put a few more breaks in between multiple dates they might not secome to exhaustion so much

LIKELADYAGAGA 4,080
Wondering how many tour cancellations are actually related to Covid recovery. Many people don't feel back to full health for a while and he's had multiple infections I think. Of course, his schedule seems super demanding too and I'm sure it's a lot for anyone to deal with much less someone recovering from multiple illnesses in such a short period of time. Guest
it makes no sense that on this day and age with all the technology artists are still being exhausted all around just to perform physically in front a crowd. I get it but it seems like innovation in technology is only good enough to exploit people than rather come up with ideas that my be less profitable but actually are helpful

Artists are artists because presumably they enjoy making music and performing it. I don’t think live music performance is the problem or that a hologram or something is a solution, or would be enjoyable at all tbh. I think the solution is less tour dates. More spaced out dates. Like Gaga is doing after learning the hard way what her limits are. also justin is cancelling this bc of a preexisting health issue that wasn’t caused by touring , no? StrawberryBlond 14,890
I think there needs to be a new way of touring introduced to put an ease on artists health. For too long, artists have been overbooked with tour schedules, they're living out of a suitcase and their home is hotel rooms. I know I struggle to sleep in hotel rooms partly because my body likely doesn't let me fall asleep easily as it knows I'm in unfamiliar surroundings, ergo, they may be unsafe. And I usually have to pee at least once in the night as well, which really sets me back. To have that be your life might be what's making them exhausted enough as it is, never mind the actual arduous nature of live performing. I get tired so quickly these days and I'm not even touring! Spacing out tour dates is the first step. Most artists are in the next continent in less than a week, it's too soon. And if they can play stadiums, do it, it cuts down on the amount of dates. Only problem is, you can really only tour stadiums in the spring/summer, when it's warm and dry enough. Which is why I'm surprised more stadiums aren't covered or at least have retractable roofs. I've always wondered what's the point in having a big open space at the top of the stadium anyway? Closed roofs would allow stadiums to be played all year round. Changes like this would ensure artists are maintaining their vocal chords, getting enough sleep, not having such jarring changes to their body clocks. I think back to when Gaga was doing 201 dates for the Monster Ball. An artist can really only do that once or twice in their lives. BTWB was when we could already see the damage that could do after one tour. I'm glad she hasn't been worked so crazy like that ever since.
SwissMonster 29,120
I totally get the point with a spaced out tour etc. but wasn‘t the Justice Tour already very spaced out? SwissMonster®️ - Creating controversy since 1999

No medication, therapy, or way of travel could replicate a sense of stability, or routine or comfort of “home”. The sacrifice of missing weddings, funerals, birthdays of loved ones. No healthy medication can ease the pressure of millions of fans who paid for ticket and flew to see you, thousands of employees counting on you for a pay-check, and millions more on social media ready to rip you. It’s easy to look at someone with unfathomable amounts of wealth and question why they can’t pay their way out of health issues. But no human on the planet is exempt from mental and physical issues. There will unfortunately never be a fix-all, because we are just to complex of beings.
