It 100% exists.

The problem is the legal crap with Troy Carter and the bad split that happened there. It all boils down to legal crap.

I’d also say wanting to distance herself from the era’s controversies like r kelly, the mechanical bull, etc. she’s put in a lot of work to move away from ARTPOP and have it not be the first thing out of people’s mouths when talking about Gaga. That’s a heavy thing to consider when considering revisiting it especially knowing it would get BIG media buzz if she did it

First of all, several fans here think there's barely anything there, most likely 3-5 unfinished demos but Gaga herself has said that Act 2 is an album that she used to play with her friends.

You’re misinterpreting the people that say that and also what Gaga is saying.  She is in no way saying that there is a “finished” album just sat there.  We know there are 90+ tracks but most of them are either just instrumentals or are concepts like the below.

We know Temple is probably far into its production because the massive document leak showed that Interscope are holding onto it so it reached a stage that the label would’ve listened to it; the same as Brooklyn Nights.  These other songs barely got off the ground though.  Gaga and her friends can for sure be enjoying them, just like we can enjoy rough demos, but it’s a misconception that any of these other tracks are ready and suitable for a public release.

Distancing herself like adding deep cuts to her Coachella and Vegas shows? :mark: Not to mention reviewing ARTPOP outfits for Vogue, even like a week ago she commented VENUS on a TikTok. Idk why stans try to paint this narrative that she’s ashamed of ARTPOP.

She doesn’t need 90 tracks for an album. And like you said there are 3 tracks (Temple, Brooklyn Nights, NOBTR) that we know are basically finished. Also This concept demos is literally her singing and mumbling into a microphone as an instrumental is playing :mark: Probably the roughest leak we have from the era, all the other unreleased demos we have sound cleaner. I’m certain she has an album worth of songs closer to being done

Last time she ever publicly spoke about it was April 2014 and said she hopes to release it really soon :deadbanana:

I think they cancelled it for Cheek to Cheek tbh, they should've atleast sold it as merch at the artRAVE

i don’t wanna sound like a gullible fan cause i know twitter leakers are always the butt of a joke for being unreliable but @pop_leaks put out these tweets in the middle of august & they’ve been right about other artists before, but i don’t wanna get my hopes up.

I’m not sure if it’s legality as this material was recorded under Interscope, Troy was just her manager but he doesn’t own ARTPOP, the label & Gaga do. I think it’s up to Gaga at the end of the day to release it because if she re-recorded the track like Taylor did, she owns them no? I think they moved on from the project because of the bad press already around it. ARTPOP is back, in demand and trendy. It would be a shame for there not to be a 10 year commemoration and finally the second volume. I’m sure DJWS is working on it with her behind the scenes and they’ll start teasing soon closer to November 2023.

if you think about it too, less work for Gaga as the ideas are there just probably need to be cleaned up, and easy money for the label.

Lmao I’m not saying she’s ashamed of ARTPOP. You misread. I mean that she wouldn’t want to draw attention to certain *behavior* of hers at the time that she’s ashamed of a bit/doesn’t want to deal with the press for (which doesn’t mean she’s ashamed but just like why have the headache?). Like featuring bits of it here and there does a good job of keeping fans happy while not drawing too much attention to the era she’s taken awhile to distance her image from, not because of shame but like the press hits back to back are exhausting, ya know? So easier to skirt over and let things lie. Doing a whole other AP era, though? That draws the media eye back to it. Basically, I don’t think she’s ashamed just kinda not wanting to deal with the media which she finds exhausting.

One of the mistakes that I see fans make a lot with this album is its meaning. A lot of people remember her saying in 2012 that she wanted Act 2 to be the experimental side, but in 2013 during the ARTPOP era she stated that went against the meaning of ARTPOP. So I think what she said here explains exactly that. ARTPOP Act 2 no longer was just this "cool" thing to release, it was it's own unique continuation of ARTPOP.

and at SXSW she said she has a whole second volume of ARTPOP that she loves so much that she listens to with her friends that are not in the system. These are the tracks we want. I think all the songs on ARTPOP are pretty experimental in general, she truly made her own genre and was just ahead of her time with it.
