Ava Max on Gaga comparisons

While I am not a fan, it’s obvious she has chosen to look like a young Gaga. And tbh, you can call it out but you can hate it, after all, that’s literally what Gaga did but with Madonna

True but Gaga credited Madonna right away, even before becoming famous, so the folks who blasted her for years over it were quite vicious.

Nothing wrong with taking from elders ofc but for a while after she became a star, ava credited every popstar under the sun but Gaga when asked about her influences while everybody mainly seeing Gaga in her.

It was probably done to avoid to be called the new Gaga 24/7 which is smart and understandable but it didn't work.

There's really no comparison to Gaga outside of blonde hair. The Madonna, Gaga comparisons made sense because it wasn't just about looks.

she credited Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Spice Girls as artists who inspired her to make pop so artists who debuted before Gaga.
Ava released her first EP with pop music in 2008. i don't think Gaga was her inspiration at all so this is why she doesn't credit her.
The only similarity is blond hair and Ava's look could have been her label decision at the beginning on her career.

She's a queen and gave a classy and nice answer, I don't understand the hate she receives by this fandom (specially on this site) I think she's so talented and has everything to become a huge artist like Gaga, sadly her management doesn't help her.

I hope for Gaga to aknowledge her existence, like of course she knows her, but would be interesting if someone asks Gaga what she thinks about the comparisons bc we know Ms. Kindness Punk will give a lovely and nice answer

I think saying Ava is the new Gaga might only mean Ava is on her way to becoming the really really big mpg like Gaga.  It might have nothing to do with her music or her looks, just her stature in pop music.

you're so rude. Ava is one of the most unproblematic and kind artists. she has never compared herself to Gaga but people are doing it all the time because they both are blondes and make pop music.

Honestly any dance-pop music-making blonde female singer with eccentric and sexy looks who make songs about the outcasts to celebrate their difference will for sure be compared to Gaga now lol.

I remember seeing Ava dancers frozing behind her during an interview and it made me think about Gaga. Same when I saw her poisoning her bf in sweet but psycho MV like Gaga in a telephone and paparazzi.

The fact everybody in the comments of the sweet and psycho video was saying "omg I thought it was lady Gaga on the thumbnail" also shows they do look alike then a few looks of hers were compared to Gaga looks a bit.

I do get where the comparisons come from tbh.

Wait a few months? Wasn't her debut released 2 years ago? She's playing coy. I'm happy Gaga never denied she's inspired by Madonna. Unlike Nicki (2010-2012) and Ava Max who both act like they don't see the comparison when it's so obivious why the comparisons exist. Ava is the biggest carbon copy of Gaga we've ever had besides tribute drag queens. Not only image wise (costumes and such) but the music itself is clearly Gaga inspired.  She seems to be inspired a lot by The FameGa. Y'all have to remember Sweet But Psycho came out when Gaga ditched her avant garde persona and was in her Joanne phase. This was the perfect time for the industry to prep another Gaga look alike industry plant. My opinion of course.

Uhm same like where did this come from? Besides the ‘ma ma ma’ part in sweet but pshyco, I never got any Gaga ‘reference’ or vibes. And Gaga doesn’t own ‘ma ma ma’, it be like someone owning ‘la la la’ or ‘na na na’, so... is this the media being trash to women again? We’ll never know...
