Gimme More 35,393
Absolutely amazing 24 years into Britney's career This becomes Britney's highest charting song in the UK since Scream & Shout (2012). It also marks Britney's 18th Top 5 hit in the UK. Hold Me Closer is currently #1 on the UK Radio Airplay Chart and is Britney's most played song since Toxic in 2004. No music video, no lyric video, not even Britney once tweeting a link to the song Amazing achievement. The song debuted at #1 in Australia. Hold Me Closer has also been added to Todays Top Hits playlist on Spotify. --- This week’s highest new entry on the chart is Hold Me Closer, a team-up between Elton John and Britney Spears, which debuts at Number 3, and is the most-downloaded song of the week in the UK. It becomes Elton’s fourth consecutive Top 5 entry in a year. For Britney, it’s her first song since 2016 and highest-peaking since Scream & Shout with Will.I.Am hit Number 1 in 2012, making this a welcome return for the beloved Princess of Pop. Anderson123 38,467
So great for just a remix of an Elton's old song. People are clearly here for new Britney music, I hope that whenever she decides to make music again it's 100% her vision.

TonzaPOP123 142
Why do I think of the Sweden's Eurovision entry Hold Me Closer when I see that title? Also I think the ESC HMC is way better than this Britney and Elton John ”song”. I'm so sorry but even though Elton John is talented and all, I am so sick and tired of him at this point. Britney should make solo music next, or else I don’t care. Happy for them, though. ❤️

Exactly, I am so sick and tired of this stupid ”Elton John remixing his old songs” trend. Can they come up with something new?

I don’t think he’s gonna stop anytime soon with his farewell tour, good on him.

Can they come up with something new? Yet half the songs on the charts are far less innovative rip offs of older hits. Like cmon the Jack Harlow song is almost identical to Fergies song, Nickis song is almost identical to Super Freak and don’t get me started on Betty, Staying Alive, Bebes Blue da ba de ba rip off and every Ava Max song. At least the production breaths new life into Eltons songs. Admittedly Cold Heart was a lot more innovative than HMC but that’s because PNAU is a genius. But as someone who improvises while recording new melodies (I still make songs and release them, just hit 1 million streams for TONZA on Spotify, with all caps artist you can find me with the green and white Pakistani videogame ”mugshot” profile photo there, I make EDM music etc), even when making new songs it can be extremely difficult to make super catchy music these days. But I am sure there are many iconic memorable melodies yet to be discovered and created to life!! I hope so at least
