It's funny that these artists/rappers who have followers and streams online dont realize that those numbers doesnt indicate they have REAL fans in that would pay to see them irl.

This is why I love Ava Max for doing that Sam's Club show cause she doesnt have any illusion what her bops and streams mean. She accepted that gig and is willing to work hard.

As for Da Baby, dont they usually research where his fans are and decide to do a concert in a certain venue? I mean, you would think they will realize he doesnt have 14k fans within the area willing to pay to see him.

Is DaBaby going to be the first rapper to be genuinely cancelled? Take this as an example as to how it's possible to have a #1 single but have it mean absolutely nothing. Rappers are the most common genre of artists this happens to as it seems so many of their figures are attributed to streams because their music is appealing to the youth market who prefer to stream instead of buy, mostly. So many rappers are borderline broke despite recently doing well on the charts. The newer ones especially have a niche market of super delusional stans and that's about it. If your music doesn't have broad outreach, you can't sustain yourself for long. Though I certainly think the touring companies need to check that demand really is definitely worthy enough to book a show in a certain area as this kinda headline only serves to make artists on their roster into a laughing stock. When an artist can sell out a stadium despite having one song go to #1 for a solitary week but another artist sells less than 500 tickets despite having a #1 single for weeks on end, something is inherently wrong with how demand is calculated.

There could be 500 people in the room at Da Baby concert, and 499 are there for Showtek (the opening act for this show).

Its really hard for rappers to really have long successful career. People started to get bored of his music sounding the same all the time.

I feel the opposite :air: pop girlies get discarded quickly but many rap artists stay successful for a long time bc their audience isn't asking for much

chaeri pls
