That was her choice. None of the other performers wore masks. She was making a statement about it though so I’m not mad about it. It was still the best performance of the night. The end of ROM was kind of awkward though

Yes given the fact that it WAS a pandemic, I have deep respect for her for wearing the masks!   I’m mad about the pandemic, not the decision to wear a mask during the pandemic , if that makes sense

Pronounced like “Balenciaga” . Emphasis on the “Ga”

Paparazzi was an absolute stroke of genius, so it's obviously n°1. I believe the Yoü and I performance is extremely underrated, imo her entire presence as Jo at the 2011 ceremony was equally as iconic as the meat dress and I think it's a bit of a shame it didn't go down in history as such. 2013 and 2020 were great moments for fans, I'm unsure what kind of mark it will leave on her career in the long run.

The Applause performance felt a bit strange to me back then as it was the first time she ever looked back on her career and self-referenced, which was very unusual for her. I was very excited about the rumor that there would be multiple Gaga impersonators on the carpet that year and we wouldn't know for sure which one was the real Gaga until the last minute, but apparently MTV pulled the plug on the idea as well as on the initial performance concept that was deemed too dark for national TV. I believe they were very much willing to put the focus on Katy Perry that year.
