Rebel 5,221
Wilde recently told Variety that she is still “such an admirer” of LaBeouf’s work but “his process was not conducive to the ethos that I demand in my productions. He has a process that, in some ways, seems to require a combative energy, and I don’t personally believe that is conducive to the best performances.” Wilde continued, “A lot came to light after this happened that really troubled me, in terms of his behavior. For our film, what we really needed was an energy that was incredibly supportive. Particularly with a movie like this, I knew that I was going to be asking Florence to be in very vulnerable situations, and my priority was making her feel safe and making her feel supported.” She concluded, “I believe that creating a safe, trusting environment is the best way to get people to do their best work. Ultimately, my responsibility is to the production and to the cast to protect them. That was my job.” Shia's response In an email LaBeouf allegedly sent to Wilde that Variety published two days after it released its cover story with Wilde in which it was implied that she terminated LaBeouf from the film, the former Even Stevens star insists he quit the production. A source close to the project confirms to EW that LaBeouf was not formally fired from the film. "I am a little confused about the narrative that I was fired," LaBeouf reportedly wrote, before calling the use of his name "attractive clickbait" for Wilde's Don't Worry Darling press tour. "You and I both know the reasons for my exit. I quit your film because your actors & I couldn't find time to rehearse." He continued: "Firing me never took place, Olivia. And while I fully understand the attractiveness of pushing that story because of the current social landscape, the social currency that brings. It is not the truth. So I am humbly asking, as a person with an eye toward making things right, that you correct the narrative as best you can. I hope none of this negatively effects [sic] you, and that your film is successful in all the ways you want it to be."

monstertoronto 8,884
Oh man. Why did she commit this on video and then send it to him and then lie about what happened. Or maybe he came back and she ended up firing him anyway? It sounds like shia and Florence didn’t get along and maybe Florence didn’t feel protected, so maybe that’s why “Flo” has been so silent about promoting the movie. dit 46,111
oh gosh...yeah this is a really bad look. I wish she did not comment that she wanted to protect Florence (insinuating that she got Shia removed to protect her lead actress) when realistically this video proves Shia left on his own terms and Olivia was in fact low key begging him to stay...a MESS. This is Olivia's 2nd film as a director right? I feel bad for her...she really needs to be careful. Hollywood is eager to cancel females in leadership roles (directors, producers etc...). These types of mistakes need to not happen again.
Shipper 12,909
We have to consider the timeline of this video. Shia exited Dont Worry Darling and months after, FKA sued him for sexual battery. If this video was taken during the initial phases of the situation, what she did was actually reasonable as the director. She was opening for a conversation AND asking if things can be worked out. If anything, she was trying to see if things can get fixed. I dont see anything wrong with that. Here is the article with the excerpt. ' A few months after LaBeouf’s exit from “Don’t Worry Darling,” his ex-girlfriend and “Honey Boy” co-star, FKA Twigs, sued him for sexual battery. I have to be honest and say I dont exactly know what Florence experienced with Shia. It was not mentioned other than some bad vibes and awkwardness. All I know is that if im in a position of a director i want to talk to both sides. Now we know months after what he did with FKA Twigs though. 💕📦💕📦💕📦💕📦💕📦💕📦💕📦💕📦💕📦💕📦💕📦💕📦💕📦💕📦💕📦💕📦💕📦💕📦💕📦💕📦💕📦💕📦💕📦💕📦💕
RichAssPiss 4,753
Hi, here's some things to be mindful of before we have another one of these short-sighted Taylor Swift snake emoji takedown party things. 1) Private communications are not public statements for a reason and trying to make peace among mutual parties by making them feel you are on their side and want things to work out is very normal professional behavior. Trying to seem reasonable and peaceable regardless of how you feel in private is basically required at most workplaces. 2) We do not know when this was filmed and at what state the situation was during this time. Things can escalate, turn sour quickly. Being open to making it work at some point in time does not mean there was no breaking point after which she no longer wanted to try and make it work. 3) This is not "begging." That's an exaggeration. This is a work call saying "Hey, let's try to make everyone get back on the same page." Hyperbolic language helps no one. Also, she does not talk about Florence being "uncomfortable." She asks, what if she was willing to move forward, could we still work it out? We do not know what this is referencing out of context. Besides that, I do dislike how much this set seems to have been a nightmare for Florence Pugh and I can't say with any certainty but it does seem like Olivia may have made some poor choices. But making poor choices does not give anyone permission to harass someone or diminish them as a person or a creative talent. So, please be respectful. You can express disappointment like a reasonable adult.

Will Harry Styles be a Razzie winning actor and Olivia Wilde be a Razzie winning directory? Looks more likely day by day and “Miss Flo” comes off so disrespectful in this context
