ELTON JOHN ON HELPING BRITNEY SING AGAIN.

- "Britney was broken. I've been broken and it's horrible".

Spears arrived with her vocals warmed up and determined ideas about her contribution, and nailed the performance in less than two hours. “She sang fantastically,” says John from his house in the south of France. “Everyone was saying they don’t think she can sing any more. But I said, she was brilliant when she started so I think she can. And she did it, and I was so thrilled with what she did.”

John’s husband, David Furnish, had an idea. “He said it would be wonderful for Britney Spears to do it,” John says, as the pair sit side by side the day after he surprised diners in a Cannes restaurant with an impromptu performance of the song. “I said, that’s a pretty amazing idea. She hadn’t done anything for so long. I’d been following what’s been happening to her for a long time.”

It was afterwards, John admits, that Spears needed some convincing that releasing the track was the right thing to do. (On 25 August, she tweeted about being “kinda overwhelmed … it’s a big deal to me !!!”) “We had to get her to approve what she did,” he says. “She’s been away so long – there’s a lot of fear there because she’s been betrayed so many times and she hasn’t really been in the public eye officially for so long. We’ve been holding her hand through the whole process, reassuring her that everything’s gonna be alright.”

Dua got solo choruses on her song with Elton.

They said why they did it though. Elton’s been approaching artists and collaborating for a while too. I don’t think it’s much of an “idea” as such, was just the right time and collaboration for him.

I think this might suggest the song is the way it is because if Britney’s wishes and contributions.

I'm glad to see Elton attempting to ease Britney back in. I'm sure jumping back into singing after so many mishaps can be stressful.

On one hand I love that someone wants to work with Britney, try to accommodate her needs, and showcase her talent... but on the other hand I feel like Elton is giving male manipulator energy here, being super shady by removing her solo, and kind of fumbling the release.

This is the beginning of other people starting to support and lift Britney back up. Hopefully she can regain trust in others   it's gonna be a difficult healing process for her because she's been betrayed so many times, but this is a good start
