Ísadóra Bjarkardóttir Barney has made her modelling debut as the new face of Miu Miu.

The 19-year-old, who is the daughter of singer Björk and artist Matthew Barney, stars in a new campaign to promote a collection of jewellery designed in collaboration with Swedish artists Nathalie Djurberg and Hans Berg.

“Photographed by Julien Martinez Leclerc, this introduces the actor Ísadóra Bjarkardóttir Barney to the Miu Miu universe,” a press release said.

“She follows in a long line of emergent cross-disciplinary Miu Miu muses, united in their difference — in their passionately individual stance.” source

I'm honestly so excited for her future. She got her first acting role with The Northman and now this, and she said she loves making music and is recording something.

And the best part is that Björk refuses to interfere with her opportunities.  For The Northman, Isadora had to go through the same auditions as everyone else and Björk didnt want her to be cast just because she's her daughter.

Soft, soothing, and succulent

Imagine having Björk as your actual mother :wtfga:

Apparently she also starred in The Northman but I failed to spot her.

No matter how "talented" they are, I can never see nepotism kids as anything other than just that. Talent (to a degree) and opportunity CAN be bought, after all.

So long ggd, it was nice while it lasted.

Talent CAN'T be bought, "nepotism kids" fail miserably when they don't have talent because of the expectations we as a society set upon them based on their parents.

I mean... the best acting coaches, the best instrument teachers, etc. can definitely be bought, and acting is a learned skill, so I do not agree with you on that. From childhood, nepotism kids are able to get the best opportunities possible, AND the opportunity to completely focus on a craft without having to consider their living situations, compared to others who have to ACTUALLY work for it.

They don’t really ever “fail” fail tho. They will always have the money and resources to do whatever they want, no matter the set-backs based on their lack of talents. Regular people don’t have that luxury

are they tho? :poot:

Even when their parents avoid giving them easy life, or they don't have actual real talent, people outside that environment will still give them opportunities based on who their parents are.  Elite connections is something they will always have. The fact we have a lot of people who are famous for the sake of being famous because they are the business moguls heir or kids of celebrities is already testament to that. :ohwell:

I.....just cannot believe that to be true. Her first film is her mother's big return to film after a 22 year break? I find that hard to believe.

Yeah what happened was bjork introduced the co writer to the director as she’s been bffs with the co writer for like 30 years lmao then they were like could you act in this please and she was like no

then she was like what happened child auditioning? And so she did and she was cast in a fairly non major role THEN bjork decided to similarly take a small role as she felt the movie really did a good job representing Icelandic culture (also, I imagine to watch over her daughter on the film set as bjork had an awful experience in ‘01).

so did knowing them help? Sure sure for sure but they didn’t give her the role because of bjork being in it as it was kinda the other way around
