She's not the originator of this album format. agreed! she's more like the "popularizer" of that format. So many have done it before her
Teletubby 138,827
she has deal with Netflix. if she plans to release visuals there then it is better to wait. she would lose a lot of first week streams because people would watch it on Netflix. Just look at the views on YouTube and you’ll see people have stopped watching. Gaga better not get any ideas. Something something idk

Tons of artists don’t make videos. They can’t afford it or they don’t think it worth it. It’s not a brave, groundbreaking stance. Literally this, like that statement around the “why” is so pretentious, like girl just say you don’t want to film something.

The article is CLEARLY talking about how the visuals won't be available at the same time as the album release: "the preeminent visual artist, decided to lead without visuals giving fans the opportunity to be limitless in their expansive listening journey." This leads me to believe she's going to hold the album and not submit it for Grammy consideration until 2023. Act ii Q4 Act iii Q1 Netflix Q2 Tour Summer 2023 This way she can milk it, avoid Adele, Bruno, & the rest, and go for the Grammy hard next year. Only wild card would be Rihanna, but let's be real, she's never making another song again.

Rihanna isn't a Grammy's darling. she lost in all categories last time in 2017. 5 of 9 of her Grammys are for collaborations where she is featured artist. she never won in Grammy's big categories. LaLuna 12,732
I hate that the art of music videos is dying. They used to be a must for any recording artist. Now they can't be bothered to make them.

I've forgotten all about that. She was filming something last week, so the visuals probably are not done yet. I wish she could've just filmed videos like normal and just have them bee continuations each time she drops a new one.
StrawberryBlond 14,268
Now, this was a shock to me. I highly doubt there will be no video content whatsoever, though. BIK showed that a complete visual project in the form of a film can be possible well after the album has been released. However, despite what we're led to believe, BIK has made no impact, only Beyonce's superfans know or care about it and it certainly didn't improve sales of The Gift. In which case, you'd think Beyonce and her entire team would realise that visuals are a defining part of who Beyonce is and what fans are here for. Already I'm surprised at how low the view counts for all these lyric videos are (less than 1 million each and most consisting of under 20k likes) considering Beyonce has nearly 25 million subscribers. If they were music videos, this could've been a very different story. If there is indeed a complete movie in the works to be released at a later date, it's a massive risk to wait until potentially the public have moved on from the album especially if she doesn't do any promo in between to keep things fresh. This is maybe another experiment to see how into Beyonce's music people are that even a lack of visuals won't bother them. But initial numbers are not looking good. If Beyonce is indeed the greatest performer alive as all these publications insist, she can't very well have an absence of visuals and maintain this title. Visuals are a major part of performing, along with voice and stage presence. This will a test of the public's patience and attention span for sure and Grammy nominations might look very different but it will come to a revelatory conclusion, I'm sure.
