@ me when it's the other girlies being called Sample Queens, instead of Ava Max

Don't even @me with the "it's how you use the sample that matters" because I'm NOT here for shifting goalposts (Rensaissance, Replay, Rain On Me, Babylon). Note that this is no shade to Beyonce, Gaga, or their excellent albums.

Rather, this is shade to delusional stans who don't realize that sampling and interpolating other artists' music is industry standard in almost every pop album of the 2020s.

Yeah, samples and remakes have been incredibly populous in movies and music for literally centuries. Media wouldn't be what it is today if it wasn't for artists creating from other people's work

Not to mention the fact that Kelis' album "Flesh Tone" was poorly received because she was a black female artist who took a chance on a dance/electronic styled album, versus her usual rnb/hip-hop style. Now all of a sudden it's groundbreaking because Beyonce is doing it. Y'all never wanna celebrate or back up any other black female artists other than B. 87 writers on the new album? Bye.

Flesh Tone wasn't the slightest bit poorly received, it just wasn't a hit with the GP. It was very much big with queer people so I'm not sure why you're using this as an excuse to poop your pants and be revisionist to fit a narrative.

Wait!!! Hold up! It wasn't even a sample?! It was an interpolation?!?!?!

"What is a interpolation simple definition?

What Is Interpolation? Interpolation is a statistical method by which related known values are used to estimate an unknown price or potential yield of a security. Interpolation is achieved by using other established values that are located in sequence with the unknown value."

"Is it legal to interpolate a song?

Interpolation. When an artist or producer can't get approval to use a sample, or they don't have enough money to license the sample, they may re-record elements of the music such as the melody or the lyrics to create the effect of sampling the music without using the master recording.Mar 22, 2018"

I mean sure I guess if she wanted to be nice Bey could've contacted her, I won't argue that. But Bey did everything legally, so should Kelis' anger not be directed at the ones who created the circumstances that made it legally safe for her to not be contacted? As in...The Neptunes.

Oh, I think Kelis has enough anger to go around.

Damn I thought Kelis would be ok with Beyoncé and just drag Pharrell because she says he did it on purpose. But the way she speaks about Beyoncé singing about female empowerment and how it's really cool to talk about it but she doesn't really do that. That's pretty bad.

It most certainly was ill-received from the start. It become a cult classic over time. As far as the last part of your rant goes, you seem to have some anger issues that you need to deal with. I'll let you get to that!

Kelis has any credit on that song? If not, they didn't have the right to contact her. Ok it's a polite thing to do, but we all know how Beyoncé Is and how She feels about herself

Jesus get a grip, are we seriously going into the nitty gritty on what is on papers? The same laws, rights and contracts are the ones holding Gaga back. Its not ok to justify these actions because a paper says its ok to go. Thats literally taking out the humanity and soul of life and these are the rules that exploit the creativity and hard work of artists.
