Like Gaga has yet to do a true DANCE album. She’s masterfully done dance pop but she hasn’t really jumped fully into the dance umbrella genre yet so if that’s their basis for dance music then I get where they’d be like wait what lol this album is straight up dance and hip hop and disco and funk and soul and ballroom. No crumbs of pop except for stuff like Plastic off the Sofa (which still slaps hard). Lol not with you assuming people don’t know real “dance” music because they don’t like This album…I think your correlation is so wrong. Personally i don’t like pop at all , literally the only reason I’m a huge Gaga fan was her dance influence. So there goes your big theory that we only like Dance pop and only have herd of dance pop. I get it your a Beyoncé fan and it’s release day , last thing you want to read is people trashing something your enjoying. But don’t assume we are all ignorant when it comes to music because our taste don’t align with yours. Also sorry if I’m reading into this too much Lmaoo I just had to say that. Teletubby 138,949
metacritic 89 reviews: •91 - Consequence While not a perfect album, Renaissance is pretty damn close. It’s infectious and not overbearing, elegant, but not shallow. consequence.net • 90 - The Line of Best Fit Renaissance is one of Beyoncé’s best albums to date: it doesn’t walk in the footsteps of its predecessors but instead makes its own path, going to places we didn’t think Beyoncé would go. The six years since her last effort have well and truly been worth the wait. thelineofbestfit.com • 90 - Rolling Stone Is this an evolution from Lemonade? Not quite. But with Renaissance, Beyoncé is more relatable than ever, giving listeners all the anthems and sultry slow burners we love and have come to expect from her, proving that inclusivity is the new black. rollingstone • 80 - The Guardian Touted as Act I of a confirmed trilogy, Renaissance falls short of being Beyoncé’s best full-length, but it still fulfils her liberationist aims. ... Her sense of freedom throughout is palpable, and an infectious spur to action. theguardian • 80 - The Telegraph (UK) This is a vast superclub of an album. But for all its inventiveness, its flavours exist within fairly narrow parameters. Still, these songs will be blasted out of cars, at house parties, in hotel rooms and on dance floors for years to come. telegraph.co.uk • 80 - The Independent (UK) That there are spots of filler on the first hour of Beyonce’s new trilogy suggests we’re in for indulgence, but that there are brisk bangers and Lemonade-like leaps of genre too bodes well for Beyonce’s defiant emotional renaissance. independent.co.uk • 80 - NME There is little Beyoncé has to prove to anyone 25 years down the line, but the start of this “three act project” proves that she’s still able to push herself and delve into new sonics, styles and ethos. nme.com

I’m sorry that was a yawn fest. I feel like I got baited with the whole house thing because there’s nothing house on this album…disappointed. Chromatica remains my fav dance pop record of the last few years. Do you even know what house is? Or you think house is how Chromatica sounded like? Guest
My full review that nobody asked for -Sounds like 2013 Beyoncé but not in a good way. Loved her album back then, even went to her tour, but now it just sounds outdated. -Lyrics are cringy, just my opinion. Bad bitch, Queen, Booty, Tiffanys, Coco Chanel, Money, all of this sounds really tacky and cheap nothing interesting to say, u don't always have to but it just sounds basic -She doesn't know how to do dance, a lot of songs lack energy, it's a failed attempt. It reminds me of someone making a pancake recipe with banana and oat milk and putting it in a pan because they heard it's a trend on TikTok (I'm that girl reference everyone?? I feel like she wanted to make a viral song based on that trend), except ur missing basic ingredients to make the pancake texture so that it doesn't fall apart... -Renaissance? To me it's more like Bey going backwards. I feel she was uninspired, maybe she's lost... She doesn't know what could work or not work in the marketing point. Maybe there's pressure she'll lose credibility as the "Queen" of entertainment -A lot of songs retake iconic melodies from old songs but does nothing with it, in fact a lot of the times it's the only good thing about the 3 minutes I listen to, but it's not hers. -PURE/HONEY, I find Rupaul makes better songs than this... what a disappointement

skedaddleBItCh 2,788
The album is good, production is great, but the lyrics LMAO they're not great at all 46 minutes ago, Jose P said: Do you even know what house is? Or you think house is how Chromatica sounded like? Chromatica IS house. A different kind of house from Renaissance, however. Let's not pretend it isn't just because it has pop flavor in it and just because they are comparing Renaissance with Chromatica. I swear if some people says Renaissance is REAL house then Jesus Christ 🇵🇭༼;´༎ຶ ༎ຶ༽🇵🇭

And I say they probably prefer dance pop because...that's the genre du jour of the artist this site is dedicated to and comparatively, yes, the music is WILDLY different so maybe they wouldn't find this as danceable as Chromatica. So cool it with the 'tude. It wasn't a read especially not to you specifically. It was a guess as to why someone would say it's hard to dance to this music as the bulk of this is literally 4 different styles of dance music. Like, clubs will absolutely be lit up to these. They're hip hop, house, little bit of trap, funk, disco, ballroom, bits of dancehall, afrobeats, and the list goes on.
