I'm only on the second song and I'm SO GLAD Beyonce took this experimental route! I love it so far and the layers in production are addicting. Iconic already tbh

Alien Superstar is so good. It’s late so I’m gonna have to stop there and enjoy the rest of the album in the morning. :messga:

I'll say it this way: It's still Adele vs Silk Sonic vs Harry Styles for Album of The Year.

It’s the delusion for me

Anyone using Apple Music to stream the album? I doesn’t bring up the option to view lyrics for some reason? Is that part of her “culture-shift genius” too?

Lyrics are generated by Genius and that more than likely had something to do with it. People had to go in and put the lyrics in, it's not run by the artists.

Definitely hearing some drag queen influences in the later tracks. I can't tell if I like the album but I'm listening on a speaker system with the subwoofer off and I'll probably like it lots better with headphones. I can see what others are saying about the lyrics being a little hard to relate to but the production is great.

I don't know if something is wrong with me or this album. But I'm on 9th track and I don't like anything but Break my soul. :/

I enjoyed my first listen of this album so much more than I did with my first listen of Chromatica.

It's absolutely stunning! I don't love a couple of tracks but there is more than enough here that I absolutely adore. I didn't expect to love this as much as I do, but **** this is a genuinely stellar body of work. She really came through.

The first listening was tragic but the more I listen to it the more it grows on me. So far my favourites are America Has a Problem, Plastic off the Sofa and Virgo's Groove, but since I'm listening to it while working I'm not paying much attention to the titles :cryga:

I like Chromatica a lot but this is absolutely much better. Way more polished, sophisticated, and actually goes all in on its concept and style.

Since people brought it up, Chromatica and Renaissance are so different, and I think that's a testament to how deep Gaga and B are in their own artistry. Even if influenced the same, they still come up with great music that's distinctly their own.

Love Chromatica, and my first listen of Renaissance was great. Excited to create a Chromatica-Renaissance-DISCO-Future Nostalgia-Special playlist... and maybe throw in some Harry Styles, too. And some of the newbies.

Doing my first listen

I'm that Girl wasn't for me, the lyrics, vocals and production just didn't work. They were all doing something completely different. Beat was fun, but the first few verses didn't work and it sounded out of place. Then when she actually started singing, she sounded beautiful but the beat was still the same. Then the 3rd half sounded like your regular Beyoncé song and I didn't mind it.

Cozy I quite enjoyed. Fun. Lyrics had ups and downs and I know Bey hasn't been broke but it's cute

Alien Superstar was fun. I think some of the lyrics were from borrowed from the first track right? I keep seeing people say it's very ballroom but I didn't get that vibe. It was very pop.

Cuff It reminded me a lot of Kylie Minogue or even Japanese Breakfast. I enjoyed this one. Had a great summer feel. Also that little grunt reminded me of Countdown which is top tier Bey for me

Energy was great. Who was the guy singing? It didn't have a feature credited but I loved his part.

Church Girl was great until the thotty part. I thought we were going somewhere with this. Sounded sweet but it switched up.

Plastic Off the Sofa, 10/10. Her vocals DELIVERED.

Virgo Groove 10/10. Everything about it works so well. Should've been released right after BMS. 2nd single for sure.

Move uhhh moving on, next...

Heated 9/10 reminded me of Standing in the Sun but more grown up. The coco chanel parts in the background were a little distracting.

Thique, I actually enjoyed this. Production was good. Don't care for the candy girl piñata lyrics but I vibe with this lol

AUIYM 10/10. Super enjoyable. What's the sample on this? Gave me ATC vibes. Or that "I'm in heaven when you kiss me" song. Even Lasgo vibes.

America Has a Problem...uh the song had nothing to do with America. Was she using the drug problems of America to describe how hard she loves? I'm confused on this one.

Pure/Honey. Enjoyed the production but another song about how much of a bad b*tch she is? Money, c*nty hunty? Does anyone really say that?

Summer Renaissance, enjoyed the I Feel Love sample and her singing the "it's so good" part. Her own original parts didn't really do it for me in this song. They didn't fit with the sample but I'd definitely bop to this is I heard it out somewhere.
