I'm kinda amazed by alien superstar, it's so strange at the start but then it "opens up" and it'a pure pop, a video would deliver.

btw I'm pretty sure it will be a visual album because the way every song start gives a "whole album sound-video experience" vibes

It needs to be a surprise visual album. There's so much potential here for visual slayage.

yeah and I want her to have a HUGE budget like she's Beyoncé she needs to spend all that money ahah I don't want cheap videos that could seem to be shot all the same day on the same set.

I want videos that individually look stunning!  let's hope she went for that:pawsup:

Internally debating if I want to hear it early or wait until Friday to listen. I’ve heard some really interesting things about this record and I don’t know if I’m ready to be ruined by the hits

She doesn't exactly do a small solo release. None of them have had less than 6 videos since her solo debut, which had 4, and her last 2 releases had videos for the entire album.

I talked myself into it because we're not always guaranteed tomorrow... Sure it's dark but yeah.

This is so dark-sided but also compelling :bradley:

Did she officially say there was a Studio 54 influence or was it all on early impressions from reviewers?

Regarding the "usual R&B", I feel like only 3-4 songs had that vibe. Everything else was much more intense/gay (for lack of a better word). This is such an unabashedly queer black album... It sounds like stuff MNEK would do, and I fücking love it.

The visuals + British Vogue interview strongly made it seem that way. Then again I'd have to listen to it again, but this just wasn't the massive sonic 180 I was anticipating.

Y’all, I forgot that this is Act I, maybe Act II will be more…disco/experimental?

I took it as her modernizing the sound but taking inspiration from Studio 54 because it was the pinnacle of disco, dance, and celebrity. Unification. This album takes so much more inspiration from Ballroom culture, classic r&b, and Hyperpop than traditional disco.

Actual feature. It's a highlight track for me.

Oh wow. Grace rarely does stuff like that.

Right, I think I expected something more classically disco / dance.

She probably talked **** about Beyoncé at some point in her career, if one cared to do a little digging :huntyga:

I also enjoyed hearing her on this record.
