FfFfFfFF 58,366
The first images from the James Webb Space Telescope are just a preview of the impressive capabilities of NASA’s $10 billion, next-generation observatory. Billed as the successor to the iconic Hubble Space Telescope, which launched into orbit in 1990, Webb was designed to peer deeper into space than ever before, with powerful instruments that can capture previously undetectable details in the cosmos. Hours after the first high-resolution image captured by the James Webb telescope were released, space enthusiasts are comparing the new telescope with its predecessor Hubble. Many users have posted side-by-side images captured by both the telescopes to show the difference between them. While the images taken by Webb are sharper, those captured by Hubble appear to lack in details. The first image taken by the Webb telescope shows crystal-clear picture of deep space and was presented in full colour. American space agency NASA has also created a page giving a detailed comparison between the two telescopes. "Webb often gets called the replacement for Hubble, but we prefer to call it a successor. Hubble's science pushed us to look to longer wavelengths to "go beyond" what Hubble has already done," NASA said on its page. "Webb will primarily look at the Universe in the infrared, while Hubble studies it primarily at optical and ultraviolet wavelengths (though it has some infrared capability)," it further said. Here’s how the Webb telescope stacks up to its famous predecessor: "Webb often gets called the replacement for Hubble, but we prefer to call it a successor. Hubble's science pushed us to look to longer wavelengths to "go beyond" what Hubble has already done," NASA said on its page. Horny Chicken 10,945
Wow, this is real life. I’ve always wondered where our universe came from. Is asking why it exists a wrong question? And whether we’re going somewhere after we die or just cease to exist. Imagine, in one of those galaxies is the planet Chromatica, where Fun Tonight and 1000 Doves made the set list. artichoke 540
This makes me go into existential crisis, like ok we are made of stardust, of molecules that came together that came from outer space, but where do things like conscious or the fact we can think come from I mean I'm sure there's an explanation but, the fact that we experience conscious... idk, I cant even explain it Or the fact that ok, there was a big bang, but what was before that? or even before, like the VERY FIRST particle to ever exist, where did it come from? And I'm not exaggerating when I say I get dizzy when thinking of this lol so I better stop.
