God forbid a Republican President gets elected in 2024 and appoints another conservative judge. Remember, these judges have the role for thier whole life... Its truly scary to think about because the US is so influential worldwide. Will this affect our relationship? in November we have an appointment to either legalize our relationship or even marry (we don’t know yet, for personal/financial reasons). Let’s say they illegalize gay marriage in America and we want to get married here in Austria, will there be a problem? JanStan 574 Posted June 25, 2022 Share Posted June 25, 2022 I’ve been thinking about this and there’s NO DOUBT they will try to overturn it but there is the issue of harm which is what they couldn’t prove before and why gay marriage was passed before. And now that it’s been in effect the argument is even weaker. Plus there are so many gay parents who could only adopt kids as married couples. What would happen to those kids if marriage rights were repealed? They are crazy af so I think they’ll try but I can’t see it happening realistically. Trump essentially made it so democrats can’t get much progress done during Biden’s term. So what we’re experiencing now is because of Trump and it will most likely stay this way unless the American people get up, get out, go vote, do whatever they can possible to get in touch with their respective representatives. It’s more than likely in 2024, we will have a republican president once again. Trump likely if he does run. So it’s more focus on the “in between” elections and things. At least this is my understanding, I’m not educated enough on a level to speak on the topic more.
