Lucas 24,450
That's because they wanted Chromatica to have a lot of streams
Lady Gaga 2009 445
I absolutely LOVE Chromatica, but yeah, a lot of the songs are too short. Only 3 songs on Chromatica are longer than 3:30. For comparison: 8 tracks on The Fame are longer than 3:30 Every track on TFM and BTW is longer than 3:30 Every track on ARTPOP except for MANiCURE is longer than 3:30 5 songs on Joanne are at or longer than 3:30 (the shorter song trend must have started here) I'm sure I'll love it regardless and it's unlikely because of how the streaming era is, but I'm hoping she gets away from the short song trend for LG7. Benji 20,113
I think it would be cool to get some extended dance remixes of all the tracks, like Kylie did with her DISCO album. I actually don’t mind the song lengths on Chromatica though, the whole album feels like it’s punching adrenaline into you. If the songs were longer it might feel like a drag. MANiCURE 6 10,216
Wait until we hear the Chromatica Ball version of Alice... Wigs are gonna be snatched.
Guest
I agree about Alice... but, don't get me wrong - Stupid Love is a total bop and I do not skip it, but that song has no business being longer. She repeats herself enough in it.
Ladle Ghoulash 16,574
Alice def needs a second verse. And Sour Candy is about 2 minutes and 37 seconds too long imo.
HausOfAntonio 7,995
1000%. Although I do feel Sour Candy suffers less than Alice. Alice would be top 10 of her discography easily with an extra verse before after the first chorus and a breakdown.
Starmie25 13,955
Candy in general is short and sweet, so I think it's kind of fitting. As for "Alice" another 30 seconds would've been dope, but that's a nitpick tbh.
ThisGuyTony 29,337
Sour Candy feels more like Blackpink feat. Gaga tbh so maybe that’s why it was shorter than other songs.
skedaddleBItCh 2,785
The songs don't feel short when listening to the whole album tbh 🇵🇭༼;´༎ຶ ༎ຶ༽🇵🇭
r4therupbeat 1,587
it's trendy because the newer generation cannot deal with a 3min song apparently - same for radios
