I have only listened to it once. Infact, it came on shuffle the other day in the car and me and my other half both reached for skip.

like, I just get tired just from hearing her drown at the start :bradley:

I think the reason it hasn't done better is because the song is not showcased well at all in my opinion. Most ppl don't even hear it until the ending credits during which many ppl actually left the theatre both times that I went to see it. It also only plays the first verse and chorus but imo the song hooks people during the second verse.

Too bad they didn't have a scene between him and the girl slow dancing to the song or something in her bar before he leaves for his mission. That would have been so much more impactful.

Also,

#2 on the pure sales chart

#38 on the radio chart (already outpeaked The Cure and Perfect Illusion)

Kworb must be way off. It's still below 40 now on that list lol

Billboard may have rules about when a song will be recurrent on the radio, similar to the Hot 100. Kworb seems unfiltered.

Not only this, but a song is removed if it has spent 20 weeks on the Hot 100 and falling below position number 50 or after 52 weeks, if it is falling below number 25.

Ok thanks for explaining. I guess that explains the difference

Usually when a song hits top 40 it helps add further rotation to new radio stations right?

HMH is doing great, people. As a Beyoncé fan, an apt and RECENT comparison would be Bey's song, SPIRIT, from The Lion King (2019).

The Lion King grossed $1.6 BILLION worldwide. The soundtrack peaked at #13. Spirit peaked at #98.

First, Gaga's fanbase, like Bey's, is too small and possibly maybe a bit too mature (i.e., NOT Swifties) to buy or stream or whatever just to help her chart. (911 PEAKED AT #77 on U.S. iTunes.)

Second, even though Bey's the female lead (voice-over) and Spirit played during a pivotal scene, she did not appear in the "photorealistic" remake. Gaga is not in Top Gun: Maverick.

Third, HMH, like Spirit, is BACKGROUND music (heard by the audience only) as opposed to SOURCE music (sung, or heard by characters in the movie - Shallow, Let It Go from Frozen, We Don't Talk About Bruno from Encanto, etc.)

Fourth, theme songs tend to do better if the soundtrack is a big hit, with mostly all-new songs - Frozen, ASIB, Encanto, etc.

All in all, HMH is doing great, if y'all had  REALISTIC expectations. 🙂
