I get that but they literally told the public that masks are not effective against covid - they didn't even say that more research is needed, they just flat out said they don't work. That's what I have issue with.

Am I the only one who thinks it's premature of them to connect the pox with gay and bisexual men, especially when the cases are so low? Did they learn nothing from the HIV pandemic when they should have focussed on safe sex education instead of demonizing MSM? Or very recently during covid when crimes against Asians increased because of the term "Chinese Virus"?

Unlike Covid, Monkeypox spreads when symptoms are showing trough close contact so it's much easier to manage. Plus we have everything we need to contain outbreaks already so there will be no waiting on vaccines or treatments.

you really would think that hopefully they would have learnt something... but everytime some sh*t like this happens, history repeats itself

e.g. it truly shocks me that covid exposed how unqualified and selfish the british government was at handling... well, anything and the population is fine with it and willing to vote them back in, just accepting the bare minimum as leadership  these bitches couldn't even lead a herd of guinea pigs to lettuce

If this gets big like covid, all I wish is that there are no full lockdowns again. Please please can we have learned something from the horrific cases such as baby star, and the one that caused me to lose sleep for weeks; Arthur Labinjo-Hughes. Schools must stay open.
