I’m disappointed but honestly not surprised…

What do you guys think? Does anyone know if she has a history of support/relationship with him or if this is a new thing?

Its insane to me that an ally like Madonna can overlook his extremely disturbing past comments on not only trans people, but jews too.

Anybody still calling him a transphobe after the genuine endearment shown in said “transphobic standup” is sheltered and miseducated. Stay pressed.

Convinced half you twinks on this site just skipped onto Twitter.com whenever that controversy peaked and went along with whatever consensus was shoved down your throats.

I think it was also more in response of the attack he experienced on stage at his stand-up a couple days ago.

Has anybody here seen the standup special that got people saying he’s transphobic? You should check it out because if anything it just goes to show how much he DOESNT hate the trans community. He showed his support and told a very moving story about an audience member I believe that ended up becoming his friend who was trans. They built a close relationship with a tragic ending for the friend. Dave Chappelle isn’t transphobic and to still say he is, is insane.

Mindblown

Not everyone is aware of what every single person has said in their entire history.

Didn’t he joke about the person who rushed him being a trans person?

No. He told an entire story of how he befriended a standup comedian that ended up being in the audience of one of his shows and was also trans. The story has a sad ending but it goes to show how empathetic he is.

He literally said “I’m team TERF” girl HOW do you justify this? Being a transphobe is not exclusively blatant hate speech and violent acts towards trans people, its a much more complex and nuanced system of beliefs and values that he has unfortunately endorsed multiple times. Your argument of his positive personal experience with a trans person is akin to homophobes who say they have a gay friend or racists who say they have a black friend…

While I appreciate the response I recommend watching his entire special and let me know if you still think the same afterwards.

No, we call a spade a spade :awkney: His comments saying he stands with JKR and how trans women aren’t real women because of their biology are transphobic and inexcusable, period. Please enlighten me on how you can be an ally to the trans community and hold those views - even voice those opinions publicly - at the same time. Its not adding up.

I find it hard to believe that by contextualising his comments they somehow become “endearing”…
