He wouldn’t have had to worry about her fans if he would’ve spoken to her without requiring her to sign an NDA…

Rather than giving into him and his manipulation tactics, she exposed him. She never once told her fans to attack him on Twitter or Instagram comments. I don’t condone those attacks, but that is just how the internet works unfortunately

Tbh, I agree with him.

She has NEVER owned those masters, it was sold from one party to another.

While we can all probably agree artiest should own their own dam music, he ain’t to blame for this. Again, she never owned them in the first place, and she did weaponise her fan base.

im sure I’m going to get pilled on here, so I will say I like Taylor swift a lot but that doesn’t excuse this situation.

She is well aware she never owned her masters, she got the chance to own her masters but got a really sh***y deal. When her masters were sold to 🛴 she was extremely angry and prompted her to re-record her first 6 albums. The deal she got involved her staying with Big Machine Records, each new album she produced meant she would gain the ownership of the master of her previous albums, which would lead her back to square 1. Taylor knew she wanted to move and had to part ways with her old masters. Her re-recording is gaining ownership of her masters.

Glad to see someone unafraid of the truth in this thread. Speak it 👏

She would never take a deal because she wants $$. She left the masters on the table when she left Big Machine. She was offered to buy them back with each new release.

She left and doesn’t get to choose what happens to them after they are left on the table. She’s very smart when it comes to $$$$ and spinning a narrative.

She wasn’t offered to buy them back from Big Machine with each new release. It was if she signed a new contract with them, they would let her “earn” the master recordings of one of her first 6 albums with each new release. This would essentially rope her into an infinite contract with them as they would then always own the six previous albums she recorded. For example, if she released “Lover” under them, then she could “earn” “Taylor Swift” (debut) while they maintained the rights to Lover. If she then released “folklore” under them, she would then “earn” Fearless while they maintained the rights to folklore. Big Machine never gave her the option to outright purchase her master recordings. They wanted to give her a bad deal just to keep her. 80% of Big Machines value came from Taylor Swift’s six albums she recorded under them.

She wanted to move on with her career rather than stick to Big Machine Records.

She didn't weaponize her fanbase. She used her voice to talk about a problem with the music SYSTEM that exploits teenagers for their talents. He is disguising "she shouldn't use her voice. Be silent" with "oh she is weaponizing people".

Sorry but I believe Taylor when she says that these "discussions" he talks about were only going to happen if she signed a document banning her from ever speaking about this topic again.

He is bad person. But it's a fact that Taylor weaponizes her fanbase, not on Nicki Minaj levels, but she does.

And this gave them the feel of liberty to be despicable people internet.

And so the problem is? She had a chance, she didn’t like the deal, she moved on knowing it was on the table. Sometimes it’s okay to have integrity over obscene amounts of cash.

This. I still remember when her fanbase attacked those young actresses from the Ginny and Georgia show as if they wrote the script themselves. When little monsters attacked Ed Sheeran, Gaga dedicated a whole post to him and asked us to stop. I don’t understand why Taylor can’t ask her fans to be kinder. With her level of influence, she should be able to do anything she wants, and she chooses to add fuel to all the online hate.

Because how much buzz would her remasters have if there wasn't a bunch of dramatics surrounding their release?
