I feel like this is somewhat a conservative take (as paradoxical as it may seems) to consider that not blossoming in gender stereotypes is the reason why you're not cis. maybe this isn't the case and I didn't understand fully what you meant but I've been confused with this narrative for a while now I think it can actually reinforces gender norms and stereotypes (like if you're cis, then you must comply with the norms, otherwise you're not cis), that's the hidden message I get from this narrative, and I'm skeptical because I personally don't comply with gender norms at all but I'm cis.
